Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP   800 M
 
TOP ROOSTER: Near the 400m momentarily shifted in and was awkward close to the heels of SWEET CANDY. Raced greenly in the straight.
 
MISHANI I AM: Slow to begin.
 
SIDLED: Steadied at the 500m when tightened between SWEET CANDY and MISHANI HITMAN (L.Tilley), which shifted to the outside of the heels SPICY DUCK before being corrected. Jockey L. Tilley was reprimanded. After passing the winning post, shifted out abruptly dislodging Apprentice E. Lang. Apprentice E. Lang was examined by QAS medical staff and was cleared to fulfil her remaining rides.
 
SIX MORE SONGS: Began awkwardly. Jockey A. Allen reported the filly, which was having its first race start, would be better suited to longer journeys. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SWEET CANDY: Race wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
 
 
Race 2: IEEC.COM.AU QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP    1200 M
 
THE INFLICTOR: Laid out rounding the home turn and then raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C. Cousins was notified a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. As a result of THE INFLICTOR laying out round the home turn, BEE EXACT was carried wider.
 
MISS SHU (NZ): Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
BLACK COUNTRY: Raced keenly in the early stages with its head up.
 
SPEEDY MACHO: Began awkwardly. In the early stages hung in and raced close to the heels of BEE EXACT.
 
BEE EXACT: In the middle stages raced with its head up. Carried wider rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 4 at 1:50pm.
 
Race 3: AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRY TRADE COLLEGE CLASS 2 PLATE 1100 M
 
BEEFEATERS: Slow into stride.
 
WATERWORLD: Near the 900m steadied to avoid the heels of QUEENS SECRET (J. Guthman-Chester), which shifted in when not clear. Jockey J. Guthman-Chester was severely reprimanded. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
CLAUDIUS: Slow to begin and then slow to muster early speed.
 
Race 4: SEVEN NEWS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP      1100 M
 
KERNEL BOOM: Passing the 900m steadied to avoid the heels of TOKYO SINS (App. J. Williams), which shifted in when not quite clear. Apprentice J. Williams was advised to exercise more care. 
 
NICCI DE ROSA: Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced for a short distance near the 800m and when being restrained to obtain cover, steadied at the heels of HACHIMAN.
 
TOKYO SINS: A post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. TOKYO SINS shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m or an Official Trial or a jump out; in the presence and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
 
HACHIMAN: Laid out from the 500m until the 300m.
 
FACETIOUS: Raced wide for the majority.
 
IN THE BLINK: Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: TAB MAIDEN PLATE       1100 M
 
ALL WIN: Trainer M. Currie was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Raced wide without cover in the early stages before being allowed to stride and join the leader passing the 800m.
 
PUZZLE DESIGNER: Slow to begin. Jockey A. Mallyon dropped his whip at the 250m.
 
SEEYA LATER GATER: Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
WIN AND TONIC: Slow to begin. Raced Keenly between the 700m to 500m.
 
BASIL'S GIFT: Three wide throughout. Hung out approaching the 600m until being eased down near the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A stable representative for Trainer M. Currie was notified that BASIL’S GIFT must compete to the satisfaction of Stewards in an Official Trial, prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP          800 M
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to ascertain whether LUCKY BRIZ had been afforded a fair start. After viewing footage of the start and interviewing Jockey A. Spinks, it was determined when the gates opened LUCKY BRIZ refused to jump with the field. On this basis Stewards were satisfied LUCKY BRIZ was afforded a fair start and was declared a starter.  Eventually left the gates but took no competitive part in the race. Trainer J. Hubbard was notified LUCKY BRIZ must compete to the satisfaction of Stewards in an Official Trial, prior to racing again.
 
GYPSY TRICKS (NZ): On route to the mounting yard, lost its off fore and off hind plate. After several attempts by the farrier, the plates were unable to be reattached. Given the time taken for this process, and in consultation with QRIC Veterinarians, the decision was made to withdraw GYPSY TRICKS at 4:06pm. On declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on GYPSY TRICKS to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st ALL STASHED UP– 9c win, 6c place
2nd HEROS TRINCKET – 18c place
3rd BIZ CLASS - 13c place
 
EMILEE'S EMPIRE: Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL STASHED UP: Held up for a run from the 400m until passing the 300m.
 
SHE IS ALL MAGIC: Raced wide throughout. Near the 150m momentarily steadied away from the heels of HERO’S TRINKET, which rolled out slightly under pressure.
 
BIZ CLASS: Laid out rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
HERO'S TRINKET: Raced wide throughout. When under pressure in the home straight laid in.
Race 7: SCHWEPPES MAIDEN HANDICAP   1666 M
 
NEVER BIRD: As the start was effected, the mare reared losing considerable ground. Trainer representative for J. Bruce was notified that NEVER BIRD must compete to the satisfaction of Stewards, in an Official Trial, prior to racing again. Laid over the concluding stages.
 
LADY PARVATI: Carried wider rounding the home turn by NEVER BIRD.
 
WASSA: Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the straight, obliging Apprentice J. Williams to stop riding and straighten the filly on several occasions.
 
LUCIELLE: Trainer P. Kimmet was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(i) for presenting LUCIELLE to the mounting yard without blinkers, which is part of its approved gear. Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 2 HANDICAP   1666 M
 
WINTER THORN (IRE): Began awkwardly and then became unbalanced when bumped by SILVER ONYX.
 
DARCHINIAN: Trainer T. Pascoe was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for the raceday declaration of A. Spinks, as the rider of the gelding.
 
SILVER ONYX: Jockey C. Bayliss was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Further, he reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of race.
 
GODRA: Wide in the early stages until obtaining a position outside the leader near the 900m.
 
HELEN'S DREAM: Began awkwardly bumping the left upright on the leaving the gates. Raced wide from the 700m.
 
AQUARIUS: Wide throughout.
