Stewards permitted the following overweight:

As Apprentice M. Castle was not riding at the meeting today for acceptable reasons, she was replaced as per the race day summary.
 
Race 1: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 3 PLATE         1100 M
 
FLYING MIKKI – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Laid in rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CRYMENOTEARS – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PAYLINE – Raced wide. Near the 300m, bumped with FIRE LANE.
 
SPIRIT QUEEN – Laid in when placed under pressure near the 100m.
 
FIRE LANE – Disappointed for clear running from the home turn until approaching the 300m and was bumped by PAYLINE. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
SHOHEI – Began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn, was obliged to steady when SPIRIT QUEEN shifted out and FLYING MIKKI laid in.
 
I SEE YOU COMING – Held up from the home turn until near the 200m.
 
BALTRAY – Raced wide with cover from the 800m.
 
Race 2: CHANNEL SEVEN WINTER PROVINCIAL STAYERS FINAL BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         2500 M
 
THE RIGHT WAY (NZ) – Laid out approaching the 200m, before being corrected by its rider.
 
LATELY (NZ) – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.
 
DISPUTED RIVER (USA) – Raced wide until approaching the 1800m.
 
TAVISTORM (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
SHEZADANDI – Leaving the 400m, was inconvenienced and shifted wider to avoid a fallen horse and rider.
 
LEATHER JACKET LEW – Over-raced early and middle stages.
 
CHASSAGNE – When asked to comment on the performance of the mare, Jockey D. Thornton reported that in his opinion it was unsuited to the speed of the race.
 
DESHORENTE – Raced keenly in the early stages.  Approaching the 1400m, was obliged to steady from the heels of TAVIESLASS (NZ).
 
LIKEABEEL – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m.
 
TUKI TWELVE – Leaving the 400m, clipped heels and fell. Jockey S. Collett was attended to by QAS staff on course and transported to hospital for further observations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in its near foreleg. Trainer representative for Heinrich Racing was advised that TUKI TWELVE would require a veterinary clearance and trial to Stewards satisfaction prior to resuming. Stewards intend to inquire into the incident at a date and time to be confirmed.
 
GIDDY GAN'S JOY – Slow to begin. Leaving the 400m, was severely inconvenienced by the fallen horse and rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
NITROGLYCERINE – Slow to begin. Leaving the 400m, was severely inconvenienced by the fallen horse and rider, resulting in Jockey R. Stewart losing his irons momentarily. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN IPSWICH MILE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1666 M
 
TENZING (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for the majority of the home straight.
 
FIFTH POSITION (IRE) – Restrained at the start.

MAGIC CONQUEROR – Raced in restricted room and was steadied approaching the 50m.
 
BETTCHA THE CROWN – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Leaving the 200m was bumped when MADAME ODETTE shifted in under pressure.
MADAME ODETTE – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Leaving the 200m, shifted in under pressure.
 
KIPLING'S JOURNEY – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced.
 
REDWOOD SHADOW (NZ) – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Laid out approaching the 50m.
 
START STRUTTING – Shifted out at the start and bumped MADAME ODETTE. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 250m and finishing line.
 
 
Race 4: IPSWICH PARTY HIRE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         1200 M
 
NAVAS TWO – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room and was steadied.
 
BUGALUGS– Raced wide throughout. Forced wider approaching the 600m when ROCKRIBBED shifted out to improve.
 
HE'S HEAVEN – Began awkwardly. Over raced for a short distance leaving the 900m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn. Near the 100m was hampered when AFFINITY FLYER shifted out to improve.
 
MAJESTIC BOOM – Jockey A. Thompson was cautioned in regard to raising his whip above shoulder height.
 
REDZOUST – Slow to begin.
 
SPOOKY SPIRIT – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Steadied when laying in near the 200m.
 
MAGIC IN ME – Raced wide throughout.
 
AFFINITY FLYER – Began awkwardly. Held up from rounding the home turn until the 150m, where Jockey J. Bayliss elected to shift wider to secure clear running. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, in particular when a run presented between MAGESTIC BOOM and ROCKRIBBED approaching the 150m and he elected to shift to the outside of the heels of ROCKRIBBED. Jockey J. Bayliss reported that his instructions were, if possible, find clear running in the home straight, as the mare appreciates racing room. Trainer I. Turner confirmed the instructions and added that with the addition of winkers today he thought it would appreciate racing room and was satisfied when the mare was shifted wider. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
Race 5: RIVER 949FM BUNDAMBA PLATE CLASS 6 PLATE (4YO ONLY QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE)         1350 M
 
HOLLYWOOD NORTH– Laid out rounding the home turn. When racing in restricted room between WITHOUT REVENGE (GB) and CENTRE BOUNCE and was steadied.

SAILOR'S SECRET – Over raced in the early stages.
WHY WE DRINK – Over raced in the early stages.
 
WITHOUT REVENGE (GB) – Raced wide throughout.
 
OUGHTON – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn and was obliged to alter course approaching the 200m to secure clear running.
 
CENTRE BOUNCE – Slow to begin.
 
KALUMBURU – Began awkwardly. Hampered shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
WARBY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 6: SCHWEPPES T L COONEY     1350 M
 
HEDGED – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted today, Jockey V. Duric stated that his instructions were to be positive early and ideally settle in the first four, however after beginning better than expected, the gelding was able to lead comfortably. Jockey V. Duric also reported that his mount was inclined to layout throughout. Stewards noted the comments.
 
SHOW ME MERCY – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CAN'T GETWHATIWANT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RUSSIAN ALLIANCE – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
RINGER'S REWARD – Hampered at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RED DEFCON - Hampered at the start and lost ground.
 
BETTERLETMEDANCE – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 7: TAB IPSWICH CUP         2150 M
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice C. Graham to review the official footage to determine if her mount KING FRANKEL (IRE) was afforded a fair start. Stewards after taking submissions and reviewing the footage were satisfied that KING FRANKEL (IRE) had not been denied a fair start, was deemed a runner and correct weight was declared.  
 
LUNCIES (GB) – Performed below market expectations. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey R. Maloney stated that the gelding was slow to muster early speed, never travelled comfortably at any point and was disappointing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DESERT ICON (FR) – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that the gelding would attempt to settle further forward. Settled in a forward position before commencing to weaken from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
KING FRANKEL (IRE) – Slow to begin.
 
DUNE FORTY FIVE – Held up approaching the home turn until the 300m.

REGAL LION (NZ) – Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
NIKAU SPUR (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained to find a position with cover.
 
Race 8: IMPERIAL RACING EYE LINER STAKES         1350 M
 
BLAZE A TRAIL – Began awkwardly and bumped with SINAWANN (IRE). A short distance later, was hampered when bumped by PETRONIUS. Held up from approaching the home turn until approaching the winning post and as a result was unable to be fully tested.
 
PETRONIUS – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Commenced to weaken from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ROCKETING BY – Raced wide.
 
SINAWANN (IRE) – Began awkwardly and bumped with BLAZE A TRAIL. Commenced to race fiercely in the early stages and continued to over race in the middle stages. Raced wide. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
WATEGOS – Held up rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a narrow run to the inside of FANCIFY (NZ) near the 300m before being held up for clear running until leaving the 200m.
 
AT WITZ END – Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
JETTY – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LOST IN TRANSIT and as a result lost ground. Raced in restricted room leaving the 900m.
 
LOST IN TRANSIT– Bumped at the start. Inconvenienced approaching the home turn by the weakening PETRONIUS.
 
FANCIFY (NZ) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying signs of heat stress.
 
Race 9: GORDON'S GIN GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC   1200 M
 
EAGLE NEST – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 900m. Steadied from heels in the early part of the straight before shifting wider. Near the 150m, bumped and became unbalanced when SNEAKY PAIGE was carried out by MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO.
 
BEZIQUE – Carried inwards shortly after the start by GREY RIVER.
 
GREY RIVER – Jumped inwards at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
YOU'LL BE MIST – Raced wide.
 
MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO – Shifted out and bumped with SNEAKY PAIGE near the 150m.
 
JAJA CHABOOGIE – Commenced to weaken from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
WOLLOMBI – Hampered shortly after the start. Near the 700m was obliged to steady from the heels of JAJA CHABOOGIE and had to shift wider.
 
LADY OF LUXURY – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped TYPHOON TAAVI shortly after the start. Obliged to steady from heels rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a run leaving the 200m and had to be steadied before shifting wider leaving the 100m to obtain clear running.
 
TYPHOON TAAVI – Began awkwardly and was then bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced when LADY OF LUXURY shifted in shortly after the start. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Improved onto heels approaching the winning post and was unable to be fully tested.
 
BLUE SPINEL – Began awkwardly.
 
JUNQUEIRA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide. Near the 250m, improved onto heels, shifted in, before again being disappointed for a run near the 100m. Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post.
 
CRAZY TRAIN – Raced wide. Approaching the 200m, when racing in restricted room, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
BURNING BELL – Raced wide.
