SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Beaudesert Saturday 2nd November Race 3: Open Hdcp – BARONESSA: Trainer M Wilson advised the mare was scoped subsequent to the event which revealed the airways to be clear. M Wilson added it was his intention to continue with the current racing preparation of BARONESSA and would now consider gear changes prior to the mare racing again.    
 
From Eagle Farm Saturday 2nd November Race 4: 3 y-o Hdcp – ROCKRATA: Trainer R Tyrell advised the gelding was scoped subsequent to the event which revealed an ulcer at the back of the epiglottis. Mr Tyrell advised ROCKRATA is receiving treatment for this condition and will be rescoped and the results forwarded to Stewards prior to racing again.    
 
 
Race 1: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1710 M
 
KING'S WARRIOR – Approaching the 200m shifted out under pressure and brushed with METCALFE.
 
METCALFE – Shortly after the start steadied from the heels of TOP ROOSTER which shifted out.Approaching the 200m brushed by KING’S WARRIOR which shifted out under pressure. Laid in under pressure over final 100m.
 
MOR KOMPASHYN – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Bumped by PRINCE LEVI passing the 500m when that runner shifted out to improve. Weakened when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
PRINCE LEVI – Mr M Kropp, representative for trainer W Kropp, was subsequently reprimanded pursuant to LR30(1)(a)(i) for late arrival on course.Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was sampled on arrival on course. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up leaving the 600m before bumping with MOR KOMPASHYM passing the 500m when shifting out to improve.
 
TOP ROOSTER – Laid out for a short distance soon after the start.
 
DARK RED – Crowded shortly after the start when METCALFE was taken out by TOP ROOSTER.
 
 
 
Race 2: SCHWEPPES QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 800 M
 
MHASAHN – Passing the 500m crowded for room and steadied when MISHANI QUEST (R Jamieson) shifted in when not fully clear. R Jamieson was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
MISHANI ERUPTION – When racing greenly shifted in of its own accord, made heavy contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of heat stress.
 
HAPPY COFFEE – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Near the 600m steadied when MISHANI QUEST (R Jamieson) shifted in when not fully clear. R Jamieson was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
MISHANI TREASURE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Slow to begin. Leaving the 700m steadied from the heels of MHASEN (M Murphy) which shifted in. M Murphy was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced greenly when placed under pressure over the final 100m.
 
 
 
Race 3: IMPERIAL RACING MAIDEN PLATE  800 M
 
The start of this event was delayed 2 minutes after ENUFF PILLS was resaddled on arrival at the barriers.
 
PONTYPRIDD – Began awkwardly.Raced wide throughout the event. Approaching the 50m improved onto the heels of SUTHERLAND and had to be steadied.
 
GETTIN'HOTINHERE – Slow to begin.
 
ENUFF PILLS – On arrival at the barrier the saddle on the horse was readjusted.
 
JABALINA – Slow to begin. Hung out badly rounding the home turn and as a result shifted to the outside running rail despite the efforts of its rider was unable to be tested in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near hind leg. Trainer M Nolan was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance and must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
CHEEK TO CHEEK – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
 
Race 4: RIVER 94.9FM MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
 
BRAZEN ACT – When asked to comment on tactics adopted in the early and middle stages, particularly the strong pace set during that stage of the race, apprentice J McMurray advised from the wide barrier he was obliged to pressure the gelding in the early stages to cross runners drawn to the inside, and that he was then reluctant to overly restrain BRAZEN ACT as the gelding has shown in the past it does have a breathing condition if overly restrained. Trainer K Schweida confirmed the instructions issued, and also the racing characteristics of BRAZEN ACT. Stewards noted the explanation of both J McMurray and Mr Schweida.
 
MATERIALIST – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BLITZUM – Near the 1000m steadied from heels of JACKS AND SODA (CJ Graham) when that runner shifted in. CJ Graham was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
AVIOR – Slow to begin. Near the 300m crowded for room when ALONTRO laid in under pressure before being corrected. Continued to race in restricted between MATERIALIST and ALONTRO until near the 100m.
 
 
 
Race 5: SPRING RACES 16 NOVEMBER BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP       2210 M
 
ACES UP – Jumped out at the start and bumped JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE.
 
NEW WORLD TAPESTRY – Held up behind the weakening EL ASTEROID between the 500m and the entrance to the home straight.
 
TAVIESLASS – Jumped out at the start. Forced wide between the 1600m and 1300m when DESHORENTE shifted away from the rails to race in a one off position. Failed to respond to riding after being placed under pressure from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild symptoms of heat stress.
 
DESHORENTE – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure over final 150m.
 
TERMITE – Slow to begin.
 
JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Bumped at the start. Raced wide from the 800m. When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer J Hepworth advised the gelding had been not suited at its most recent starts when racing back in the field in slowly run races and today, with a quicker tempo in the middle stages, JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE was more suited by the more genuine tempo from the 800 metres.
 
 
Race 6: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 HANDICAP         1200 M
 
LA PETITE MAISON – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions. Rider A Jones reported the gelding was inclined to lay out at various stages of the event. Representative for trainer T Gollan was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of LA PETITE MAISON. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
GRAND METEOR – Trainer T Gollan was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the mare.
 
PITAVAGO – Slow to begin.
 
HI JULES – Jumped away awkwardly. Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
OAKFIELD STORM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 7: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 4 HANDICAP         1350 M
 
REGAL EDITION – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m steadied from the heels of RIVIERA BLIUE which shifted in before being corrected. As a result TOBA, which was racing to the inside of REGAL EDITION, was momentarily taken in when joining up to the course proper. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight, and near the 200m was disappointed for a run to the inside of SIAN STAR. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery and symptoms of the thumps.
 
VANCITY – Shifted in abruptly at the start hampering ATLANTIC ROYAL. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Hampered on jumping away when VANCITY shifted in abruptly.
 
SIAN STAR – Rider J Williams reported in his opinion the gelding would appreciate step up distance, adding that under the 60kg impost did not quicken as expected when placed under pressure from the 400m.
 
TOBA – Inconvenienced and taken near the 1200m.
 
 
Race 8: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1710 M
 
VICTORY COMMAND – Jumped in at the start. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
OLD SALT – Slow to begin, then bumped by VICTORY COMMAND which shifted in abruptly on jumping.  Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
NO DOUBLE DIPPING – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LASQUETI BOOM – Raced wide for the majority of the event with cover.
 
PIREONTI – When asked to comment rider CJ Graham reported the mare resented racing between runners and did not let down as expected when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
VORTEXIA – Leaving the 1000m left a forward trailing position, progressed forward and led the event from the 700m.
 
JUST WANT YOU BACK – When racing keenly near the 1400m, over-raced and had to be steadied from the heels of ADELAIDE’S LACE.Rider J Stanley advised in his opinion the filly would benefit from a drop back in distance.
 
ADELAIDE'S LACE – Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until approaching the 100m.
 
PLANNED ENCOUNTER – Slow to begin.
 
MAPLE MAGIC – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate.
