SHE'S GOT LYRICS – Apprentice E. Lang reported the mare travelled keenly in the middle stages and added it may have been better to improve with SOBUTE when that horse commenced a run from the 600m. DARE I SAY – Fractious in the mounting enclosure. Began awkwardly. FREYA'S MAGIC – In the middle stages, raced keenly. Race 2: GORDON'S GIN CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1700 M WANDA'S OUTLAW – Made the crossing awkwardly. In the early stages, raced keenly. SECRET SHEEMA (NZ) – After the race, it was noted the mare had lost the near fore plate in running. Race 3: TAB CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1700 M AUTUMN MISS – Began awkwardly. In the early stages, raced keenly. Near the 300m was brushed by ARCHERS REIGN, which shifted out. Near the 200m, steadied when racing tight between ARCHERS REIGN and LYNCHED, which rolled in. When questioned regarding his riding of the mare, Apprentice B. Wheeler stated he had hoped to take up either a leading position or just off the leader depending on the tempo of the race but was mindful of AUTUMN MISS being first up on the heavy track. He said he elected to sit outside ARCHERS REIGN in the early and middle stages expecting that gelding to run a stronger tempo and when TORIE'S ROSE raced around the field quickly passing the 800m, his mount was left flat footed. He added although AUTUMN MISS received some tightening in the straight, the mare’s run had finished. He further added upon reflection, it would have been best to lead and set his own tempo in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. ARCHERS REIGN – Made the crossing awkwardly. TORIE'S ROSE – Slow to begin. LYNCHED – Made the crossing awkwardly. Race 4: TAE AEROSPACE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M GAELIC SPIRIT – Slow to begin. VIENNA WHO – Raced greenly over the concluding stages. PETITE PALACE – Held up for clear running from the 400m until passing the 200m. Approaching the 200m, awkwardly placed on heels. TAPATI – Began awkwardly. Rider R. Jamieson (PETITE PALACE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that approaching the 200m, after improving on her mount, shifted out, initially tightening the running of SHAMROCK'S SECRET, and as a result of her actions, becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of QUEENSTAR and then directed her mount out around that runner to obtain clear running, with SHAMROCK'S SECRET being checked. Rider R. Jamieson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days, commencing midnight Friday 20 December 2024, concluding midnight Friday 27 December 2024.
