PREFER TO DANCE – Dipped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.

DIVAS REIGN – As rider L. Tilley was indisposed, he was replaced by G. Cartwright. Rider G. Cartwright reported the mare hung out for the majority of the race, particularly around the home turn.

CLASSIC SHIRAZ – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

TOP LEVEL – Began awkwardly.

L. Dempsey, rider of TOP LEVEL, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 200m, he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of RUMBLING BOY, resulting in that runner being steadied to avoid heels. L Dempsey’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight the 5th of February and to expire midnight the 12th of February 2025. In determining penalty, account was taken of L. Dempsey’s record in relation to this rule, guilty plea and the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines.

In issuing the charge, Stewards acknowledged that rider K. Wilson-Taylor made some effort to correct his mount in the incident. K. Wilson-Taylor’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight the 2nd of February and to expire midnight the 11th of February 2025. In determining penalty, account was taken of K.
