Race 1: BOOTH PASTORAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100 Metres.
1st – TRAVEL IN STYLE 2nd – MORE THAN WILLING 3rd - GESTICULATION 4th - DIURNAL TIGER

GESTICULATION - Stewards permitted Jockey T Chambers to ride the gelding 4kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available.

FAVOURED ONE - Wide throughout.

DIURNAL TIGER - Wide at the 800m.

BUCKANARA- Soon after the start had to be eased off the heels of another runner, Apprentice N Nelson reported the gelding resented the kick-back during running.

MORE THAN WILLING- Slow away and wide throughout, when questioned Jockey A Spradau reported the gelding was unbalanced as the start was effected.

Race 2: HUGHENDEN MOTOR CYCLES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres.
1st – BUSH LAWYER 2nd - ASHLEN 3rd – CRAIGLEA SACHA 4th - MOJAVE ROYALE

The announcement of correct weight was delayed whilst Jockey T Chambers who rode ASHLEN, the 2nd placegetter, viewed the patrol footage to ascertain whether she had grounds to lodge an objection against BUSH LAWYER the 1st placegetter, on the grounds of interference near the 150m. After viewing the patrol footage Jockey T Chambers elected not to proceed with an objection.

I’M LATE I’M LATE - Wide throughout.

BOHAI BAY - Slow to begin then raced wide rounding the home turn.

OLLIE OOBA - Wide throughout.

ASHLEN - Wide throughout then was inclined to hang in from the 200m.

Race 3: McKINLAY SHIRE COUNCIL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 Metres.
1st – SMOOTH MOVING MAMA 2ND - COWARDOFTHECOUNTY 3rd – AMAZING MOSS 4th – JOKES ASIDE

VILLAINOUS LASS - Was a late withdrawal at 12md when no rider was available.

ARTIE’S SON - Was a late withdrawal at 12md when no rider was available.

OVERTONE ARIA - Prior to a start being effected the mare broke through the front of the barriers and galloped riderless for a considerable distance. Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.10pm. Trainer Mr G Wiles was told that a warning would be placed on the mare.

WULFWIN- Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride the gelding 2kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available. As the start was effected the gates failed to open resulting in the gelding taking no competitive part in the event. Stewards ruled that the gelding be declared a non-runner under AR134A.

Subsequently when correct weight was declared stewards ordered that all bets placed on OVERTONE ARIA and WULFWIN be refunded in full and all other successful bets placed on the race prior to 3.10pm be subject to the deductions of 22c win and 20c place on the face value of the betting ticket.

COWARDOFTHECOUNTY - Wide on the home turn.

TENTORINOS - Wide on the home turn.

PAYOLA - Stewards permitted Jockey T Chambers to ride the mare 4kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available. Wide throughout. When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey T Chambers reported that in her opinion the mare may have jarred up on the firm track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 4: JULIA CREEK TURF CLUB BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1350 Metres.
1st – COURT ACTION 2nd – WHAT THE HECK 3rd - GENERAL SON 4th – MONTH OF SUNDAYS

TOUGH COMPANY - Was a late withdrawal at 12md when no rider was available.

SHOW US A SMILE - Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available.

SHIMAZU - Stewards permitted Jockey A Spradau to ride the gelding 4.5kg over its declared weight when no other rider was available.

DON’T THINK DO - Wide throughout.

WHAT THE HECK - Wide at the 800m.

KESTHIN- Wide rounding the home turn.

BULLRAMA - Near the 1200m made contact with the inside rail, Apprentice T Tincknell reported the gelding resented the kickback.

Race 5: RACING QUEENSLAND JULIA CREEK CUP OPENHANDICAP 1350 Metres.
1st – THE GALLOWS 2nd – REVEL IN THE CHAOS 3rd- BIANCO ROSSA 4th – SMOOTH GENERAL

EASTLINE - Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride the gelding 3.5kg over its declared weight as no rider was available. Wide at the 800m.

GUN AND POWER - Wide at the 800m.

THE GALLOWS - Wide at the 800m.

BIANCO ROSSA - Wide rounding the home turn.

REVEL IN THE CHAOS- Wide rounding the home turn.

DARCEY – A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which finished a distant last did not reveal any abnormalities.
