JOHNSTON GRADER HIRE & S N GABBERT CONSTRUCTIONS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m BOSSUKA – Exremely fractious in the parade yard. Became cast on the perimeter fence and dislodged Jockey J Hoopert. Withdrawn by order of Stewards at 1.20pm. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on Bossuka be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching be subject to deductions of 46 cents in the dollar win and 35 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket. A subsequent Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr D Smith was advised Bossuka would be required to trial satisfactorily under race day conditions prior to next race start. Jockey Hoopert was examined by QAS officers and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. MISS BELLERENTE – Slowly away. TORA SUMI – Bumped with another runner on jumping. CRAZY SUSPECT - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide throughout. LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Hung out rounding the 800m turn. Race 2. BOOTHS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1100m BRAHMINY – Slowly into stride. Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages. Finished off fairly. BOLD SAM – Lost ground when tightened between runners soon after jumping. Raced wide throughout. DANSK HAVN – Raced wide throughout. Performed below market expectations. Jockey R McMahon was of the opinion the gelding was not comfortable on the dirt surface. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. SMITHY’S HAMMER - Raced wide throughout. STATIC LIFT – Lost the off fore plate in running. Race 3. TEDDY PARRY OPEN HANDICAP 1100m WICKED WIKI – Fractious exiting parade yard making contact with gate post. Underwent a Veterinary inspection on arrival at the barriers and was passed fit to start. BLAINE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Trailed the field throughout. MR TINDALL – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly and bumping with another runner soon after. Raced wide throughout. MAGIC TOWN - Raced wide throughout. Race 4. JULIA CREEK HOTEL BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1350m CASH BUNDLE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. THE DECKERAIDER – Tightened between runners on jumping. Unable to muster pace in the early stages. MISS SIZZ – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages due to the kickback in running. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. IQELA - Raced wide throughout. BACCHUR – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Trainer Ms T Parry advised that the gelding had pleased her with its work following a good performance in a higher grade race at Hughenden last start. Ms Parry was also of the opinion the gelding was better suited over the longer distance of today’s event. Race 5. MCKINLAY SHIRE COUNCIL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1350m Jockey R McMahon was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR127 after committing to ride both EMPIRE GAMES and WARRUMBUNGLE in this event. As Jockey McMahon was to be unable to make weight on EMPIRE GAMES, Stewards ordered that he fulfil the engagement to ride WARRUMBUNGLE. SOVIET – Slowly away. FA FA – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Trainer Ms T Parry advised she will consider a gear change prior to next start. DO I HAVE TO – Raced wide throughout. ALMIGHTY GOLD (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. WARRUMBUNGLE – Raced wide throughout. RICH PRINCESS – Trainer Ms T Parry advised that the mare, which tired noticeably after being caught wide throughout last start at Hughenden, produces its best form when ridden aggressively, as in today’s event.
