Race 1:COLEMAN STOCKFEED / SEARLE PLUMBING Maiden Plate (1100m)
 
DON’TSTOPLAUGHING – Was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 1:08pm after becoming fractious entering the course proper and dislodging jockey W D’Avila. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded in full. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:08pm were as follows:
27 cents in the dollar for the win
19 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer S Royes was advised the gelding will need to trial under race day conditions prior to its next start. Jockey W D’Avila was attended by QAS officers for bruising to the left knee and stood down from riding duties for the remainder of the day. Mr D’Avila was advised he will require a medical certificate prior to being permitted to ride again.
 
MRS NOVAK – Was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 1:23pm after becoming fractious and breaking through the front gates and galloping riderless for some distance. All monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded in full. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:23pm were as follows:
4 cents in the dollar for the win
5 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer T Parry was advised that the mare will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.
 
MISSILE HOPE – Was declared a late scratching by order of stewards @ 1:27pm after refusing to load into the barriers. All monies invested on the filly were ordered to be refunded in full. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 1:27pm were as follows:
4 cents in the dollar for the win
5 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer T Parry was advised the filly would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.
 
SENKO –Was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 1:33pm after becoming fractious and breaking through the front gates and galloping riderless for some distance. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded in full. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:33pm were as follows:
4 cents in the dollar for the win
5 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer T Parry was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.
App Jockey S Nielson was fined $200 under AR190(4) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
COLONEL VON TRAPP – Was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 1:33pm after becoming fractious and breaking through the front gates and galloping riderless for some distance. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded in full. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:33pm were as follows:
9 cents in the dollars for the win
10 cents in the dollar for the place
Trainer K Krogh was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next start.
 
Race 2:MCKINLAY SHIRE COUNCIL BENCHMARK 45 Handicap (1100m)
 
MADONNA FALLS – Slow into stride.
 
FUDGINIT – Raced wide throughout.
 
PRESTISSIMO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALPHA BLUE – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J Baker was examined by QAS officers after becoming unwell after the finishing line and was cleared to ride for the remainder of the day.
 
IRON MASK – On returning to scale, Jockey J Doolan advised she had made heavy contact with the barrier partitions on jumping. J Doolan did not require medical attention and continued riding for the remainder of day.
 
Race 3:HUTCHINSON BUILDERS OPEN Handicap (1100m)
 
MR TINDALL – Approaching the 200m, the gelding collapsed and fell, dislodging Jockey J Felix. Jockey J Felix received medical attention by the on-course paramedics before being transferred to hospital for further assessment for a suspected broken collarbone. Mr Felix is required to present a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again. MR TINDALL was treated by the on-course veterinarian, taken back to stalls and was found to have had an internal bleed. Trainer J Bawden was advised that as this is the 2nd such occurrence of bleeding from both nostrils, and as such the gelding is now ineligible to start in any race – AR79(6).
 
LUCKY MACHU – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
CATO – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DUKES COUNTY –Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4:MARWILL / GULF COTTON QTIS Ratings Band 0 – 60 Handicap (1350m)
 
TURF EDITION – Inconvenienced on jumping after being bumped by another runner. On return to scale, Jockey J Babarovich advised that he was stuck by a rock on the bridge of the nose during running. Jockey Babarovich was examined by QAS and was cleared to continue riding.
 
JABAIL GOLD – Shifted in on jumping, bumping another runner. Laid out rounding the home turn and over the concluding stages.
 
SIR BULLEE – Stewards permitted App Jockey S Nielson to ride +2kg overweight as there were no other riders available. Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer T Parry advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race and barrier manners.
 
FLYING EUROS – Raced wide throughout.

FAR REACHING – Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride 0.5kg overweight as there was no other riders available.
 
FLAMING TORCH – Stewards permitted Jockey J Baker to ride 0.5kg overweight as there were no other riders available.
 
MOPAR – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL AT SEA –Raced wide throughout. On returning to scale, Jockey K Ballard had advised that he had been struck on the bridge of the nose by a rock during the race. K Ballard did not require any medical attention from QAS officers.
 
MERSEY GIRL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare required further attention due to laboured breathing. A veterinary clearance including full blood count results will be required prior to the filly’s next start.
