Prior to the running of this race meeting all riders were subject to a breath analysis test.
 
Stewards accepted the following overweights.

Race 1:  JULIA CREEK HOTEL Maiden Plate 1100m
 
 
FORTIUS ALTIUS – Hung out rounding the 800m turn taking another runner wide.
 
GULF OF AQABA – Enroute to the start was found to be lame in the off-front hoof and was declared a late scratching at 1:09pm on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all bets on GULF OF AQABA be refunded in full of the following deductions applicable on all bets
placed prior to 1:09pm.
 
1st KAYTEE REINADO 22c win, 17c place
2nd DON’TSTOPLAUGHING 17c place
3rd FORTIUS ALTIUS 17c place
 
Trainer K. Krogh was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race start.
 
 
LONDON TYCOON – Blundered on jumping. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost its off front shoe and was lame in the off front hoof. Trainer Ms T Parry was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.
 
RIGHT ON RALPHY – Raced wide majority, taken wider at the 800m by another runner.
 
 
Race 2: FITCHETT CONTRACTING QTIS CLASS 1 Handicap 1100m
 
SHOOT BIG – Stewards permitted Jockey D. Ballard to ride his mount +0.5kg over the allocated weight.
 
DIDN’T ASK ME – Slow to begin.
 
MILLVALE – Slow to begin. Raced wide majority.
 
VALIANT KNIGHT – Was inclined to hang out through out. Trainer Ms S. Royes was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings’ racing manners.
 
CHAIN OF FIRE – Lay out rounding the home. Trainer Ms T. Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
KISS GOODBYE – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
AMBER ONE – Slow to begin.
 
REAL EMPRESS – Shifted out on jumping bumping another runner.
 
DOUBLE OH SEVEN – Was declared a late scratching at 2:03pm by order of Stewards when refused to load into barriers. Stewards ordered that all bets on the gelding prior to 2:03pm be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply.
 
1st VALIANT KNIGHT 12c win, 11c place
2nd SHOOT BIG 11c place
3rd REAL EMPRESS 11c place
 
Trainer B. Johnson was advised that the gelding would need to complete a satisfactory barrier trial prior to its next race start.

SINGLE MALT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SPANISH SPIRIT – Raced wide for the middle stages and rounding home turn.
