Race 1: DIRT N DUST BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP  1350m
 
GOLDEN EIGHTY and LASTING PROMISE were late scratching’s due no available rider.
DIAMOND HANDS – stood flat footed, then blundered when getting into stride, badly unbalancing rider Dennis Baker, and settling well back; ran wide making the final turn and finished the race off wide on the track. Proved difficult to ease down after the finish with rider Baker becoming badly unbalanced and falling from the saddle. After being treated by the on-course medical personnel Mr. Baker was transported to Julia Creek hospital for further assessment. Trainer K McGovern advised that she would no longer be persevering with DIAMONDS HANDS as a racing proposition. Nonetheless DIAMOND HANDS must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards should it be recommissioned.
TUSCAN SUN – made the first turn awkwardly when racing ungenerously.
THE LAST CRUSADE - travelled wide throughout.
MALABAR PRINCE – travelled wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2: SEDAN DIP CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 M
 
RESTRICTIONS was a late scratching at 10:20am. Trainer Ms. S Royes was firmly reminded of her obligations to ensure all withdrawals are actioned by the required time.
MINISTER – travelled wide throughout
RIVER DANZKA - travelled wide throughout
PRIVATE SECTOR – fractious in the barriers then jumped in the air at the start and was resultantly slow away; travelled wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: SAXBY ROUND UP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP           1100 M
 
FIFTY CARATS and DARK ARCHER were late scratching’s due no available rider.
ONTHETAKE – was a late scratching following the injury to rider Dennis Baker in Race 1 and there being no other rider being available.
TRINITY MISSILE – shifted ground in near the 800 metres resulting in crowding to LA PETITE MISSILE and BITTERGREYMAGIC. Rider David Sparks was reprimanded under AR131a and firmly reminded of his obligations when in similar circumstances.
TEXAS STORM – inclined to lay in through the early part of the final straight; placed in restricted passing the 200 metres and had to steady.
LA PETITE MISSILE – crowded entering the first turn near the 800 metres when inside TRINITY MISSILE.
BITTERGREYMAGIC – crowded passing 800 metres.
THE BROTHERHOOD – inclined to lay from the 800 metres; shifted in passing the 200 metres, and when being corrected by rider Jason Hoopert shifted out into the running of TEXAS STORM which was improving on his outside. Mr. Hoopert was advised to exercise greater care.
 
 
Race 4: MACKINLAY RACE CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP 1100 M
 
DISPUTE - was a late scratching following the injury to rider Dennis Baker in Race 1 and there being no other rider being available.
OUR BENEFIT – apprentice Shae Nielson reported that the gelding had proved difficult to control during the running.
INVADING JILLY – rider Jason Babarovich accidently dropped his whip near the 200 metres.
Following this race rider Jeffrey Felix was attended by the on-course medical personnel after becoming unwell. Mr Felix was then transported to Julia Creek hospital for further assessment.
 
Race 5: JULIA CREEK CSA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M
 
ADASHAN, KLONDIKE STRIKE and SUMMER SIZZLING were late scratching’s due no available rider.
MOGGIE was a late scratching following the injury to rider Dennis Baker in Race 1 and there being no other rider being available.
LORD KENNY – was a late scratching following the illness suffered to rider Jeffrey Felix in Race 4 and there being no other rider available.
BUTE MOVES – slow to leave the barriers.
GEORGY THE GREAT – travelled wide throughout.
PANDA DRUM – travelled wide throughout.
FABULOUS HOFFA – hung out badly throughout.
