RACE 1: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
The start of this race was delayed when Sticky Bee reared over and became cast in the barriers. Sticky Bee was declared a late scratching at 1.03 pm. All monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

STICKY BEE - Connections were advised that Sticky Bee must perform satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start due to its poor barrier manners.
TALE OF FORTUNE – Slow to begin.
NAZAR ROYALE – Tightened for room near the 200m and became awkward.
IBELIEVEICANFLY – Shifted out under pressure when racing greenly in the home straight.
RACE 2: KPC MAIDEN H’CAP – 1060M
ROCKONI - The start was delayed when the gelding proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its barrier manners. Rider N. Yamada advised that, in his opinion, his mount failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. Trainer Mr A. Ross agreed with the jockey’s comments. Inconvenienced soon after the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
ABSEIL – Slow to begin.
RAFFIN SILVER – Began awkwardly and shifted out, and then a short distance later shifted in abruptly, inconveniencing another runner.
RACE 3: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0-62 H’CAP – 1900M
LEICA PEGASUS – Change of tactics. Connections advised the instructions for the gelding, which has been ridden back in the field, will be to take up a forward position today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
AZZIMATO – Slow to begin.
THOMAS THE WELSH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
RACE 4: QLD INDOOR FOLIAGE RATINGS BAND 0-62 H’CAP – 1500M
BOUND TO GO – As D. Carrigg was ill, stewards permitted S. Bogenhuber to be the replacement rider. Steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start. Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
CASA CIELLO – Initially slow to begin and then hampered shortly after the start. Rider K. Wharton reported at scale that, in his opinion, the mare failed to run out the 1500m distance.
RUN JAKE RUN – Commenced to overrace when the pace steadied near the 1200m and had to be steadied from heels.
HANNIBAL AD PORTAS – Steadied near the 1000m.
WAVERLEY HEIGHTS – Bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.
CHINSKY – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have sustained a laceration to its near-side knee consistent with it being galloped on, requiring the attention of the veterinary surgeon.
RACE 5: STOCKMANS SUPPLIES CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1060M
JERROCITY – Slow to begin.
RELENTLESS HEART – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
AIR DIAMOND – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
GOING GOING – Rider S. Bogenhuber was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the horse, in particular the reason for leading in today’s event when in previous starts the mare has been racing back in the field. Jockey Bogenhuber stated she rode the mare in a similar manner at its most recent trial, adding she was instructed to be in a forward position in today’s event. Trainer S. Iverson explained this was the mare’s first start for him this preparation, however added he had previously trained the mare and whilst in his care always instructed riders to take up a forward position. He informed stewards that the same instructions will apply for future starts. Stewards accepted the explanation.
RACE 6: BP DRIVEWAY KILCOY CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
PAGOH – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and as a result took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K. Hill was advised that the gelding would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial prior to being permitted to race again.
CRAIGLEA ART – Shifted out under pressure near the 50m and brushed another runner.
EXEMPLARY- Brushed near the 50m.
RACE 7: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP
STYLISH DRAGON – Declared a late scratching at 10.40 am due to a clerical error.
LIBERTY TYCOON – Slow to begin and then raced wide for the majority of the race.
NOT WITHOUT SIN – Slow to begin.
VICE OR VIRTUE – Kicked by another horse earlier in the day. A veterinary examination cleared the horse to race. Rider R. Johnston-Bell dropped his whip in the home straight.
COHENRI – Stewards questioned trainer G. Maroney regarding the seeming improved performance. Mr Maroney stated that prior to its previous start he had given the gelding a month break from racing and had changed its training routine. He also added that the gelding improved with the addition of pacifiers at its previous start at Texas and also expected a forward showing in today’s event. Stewards noted the comments.
ALL MY ANGELS – Rider S. Bogenhuber reported to stewards that the gelding did not travel comfortably throughout the event and found the line only fairly.
