RACE 1: CARLTON-MID BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1060M
VORTUKA- Attempted to buck for a short distance shortly after the start and lost ground. Stewards issued a warning against the horse’s racing manners.
OSTERIA- Slightly slow to begin.
HIZOU- Tightened for room at the start.
CROWN OF DREAMS- Tightened for room at the start.
RACE 2: KPC/STOCKMANS SUPPLIES QTIS BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 800M
WHATEVER MISS- Apprentice N Fazackerley replaced Apprentice D Graham as the rider of the mare. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered from Trainer B Hudson regarding the late rider change.
PARELEMA- Slow to begin.
MONTE LAGO- Slow to begin.
JEPTOO- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
DR QUINCY- Rider dropped her whip at the 150m.
JEPTOO- Checked when tightened for room near the 400m when WHATEVER MISS (App. N. Fazackerley) shifted in when not completely clear. Apprentice Fazackerley was severely reprimanded for this incident.
RACE 3: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL/CANADIAN CLUB CLASS B H'CAP – 1500M
SAURIMO –Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
STAR OF BETHLEHEM- Slow to begin.
SO CHOOSY- Raced keenly in the early stages and laid in near the 900m.
DOVANA- Held up from the 500m and was checked when disappointed for a run near the 300m. Checked to avoid the heels of another runner near the 250m.
OAKFIELD CECILIA- Shifted out abruptly after improving onto heels rounding the home turn.
RACE 4: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
NIAGARA PRINCE- Slow to begin and then failed to muster speed in the early and middle stages of the event.
KAPACHINO MISS- Bumped at the start.
HIDRIFTER- Bumped at the start.
SMOOTH VELVET- Began awkwardly and bumped another runner on jumping away.
LUCKY’S LIL GIRL- Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
CHIC SOX- Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1200M
MELWOOD-Slow to begin.
SAIL THE STARS- Slow to begin. Steadied when tightened for room to the inside of CORONATION BENNY (App. N. Fazackerley) near the 1000m. Apprentice Fazackerley was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
ROSDANE- Slow to begin.
VESELKA- Near the 400m when attempting a narrow run was tightened for room and was eased.
EARLSTOUN RULER- Raced wide throughout. Forced wider on the track near the 400m.
CORONATION BENNY- Bumped the running rail near the 400m, became awkward and shifted wider on the track.
JAMMO JACK- Bumped and forced wider near the 400m.
EUPHORBIA- Steadied from heels near the 400m and then approaching the 300m, when racing keenly was again steadied after being disappointed for a run.
