Hanson GENERAL All races were put back one timeslot due to the non-arrival of key personnel. Race 1: Tattersalls Racing Club Kilcoy Christmas Cup H’cap – Benchmark 55 – 1900m NOVATIVE – Slow to begin. TERGRANDE – Very slow to begin. PRINCE OF BARODA – Steadied from heels approaching the first turn, and again near the 1200m. Jockey R. McMahon, rider of TIMELY REMINDER, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the home turn on the first occasion he shifted in when insufficiently clear, resulting in PRINCE OF BARODA having to be checked. Jockey R. McMahon was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight, 9 December and to expire at midnight, 21 December. R. McMahon was also reprimanded under AR137(a) for allowing his mount to shift in, tightening another runner near the 1200m. STRATALENA – Overraced in the early stages. Race 2: Kilcoy Exchange Hotel Maiden Plate – 1200m HEY BROTHER – Jockey G. Mitchell reported at scales the horse got its tongue over the bit, which may have placed it at a disadvantage. KRYSTAL KATE – Jockey N. Fazackerley reported that his mount overraced in the blinkers and refused to settle. OAKFIELD SUNSET – Tightened between runners shortly after the start. Race 3: Butler McDermot Lawyers Christmas Gift Benchmark 58 H’cap – 1200m OUR ROCK O’REILLY – Was restless in the barriers. After considering the horse’s poor record in this regard, a warning was placed on the horse. Stewards intend to inquire into an incident which occurred approaching the final turn where jockey J. Woodhouse was dislodged. This inquiry will be scheduled for hearing at a time and date to be fixed. GREAT GRATS – Slow to begin. Race 4: Tattersalls Racing Club QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 800m UMAWINNER – Declared a late scratching at 3.15 pm on veterinary advice. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable. 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets17 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place22 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets16 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets CHARMS – Jumped away awkwardly and shortly after the start hung out. Raced greenly. Race 5: Carlton Mid Cannonball Series Final Benchamrk 75 H’cap – 800m LIFE’S LIKE THAT – As J. Woodhouse was indisposed a late riding change to T. Williams was approved by stewards. ROYAL MYTH – Slow to begin. TRUCULENT – Laid in approaching the final turn. LISA FASHIOISTA – Momentarily tightened approaching the final turn. WHATEVER MISS – Jockey G. Mitchell reported her saddle slipped, placing her at a disadvantage during the event. Race 6: Ian & Di McCauley Cup Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1060m Due to delays, this race was rescheduled to 4.50 pm. Correct weight was delayed to allow jockey A. Merritt, rider of the 5th placegetter, VOLMITE, to view the photo finish print for 4th and 5th placings. He was subsequently satisfied and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings. MOLLY MIYAKO – Hampered rounding the 800m turn. Apprentice N. Keal, rider of LAST ROUND, was reprimanded for this incident. Had to be steadied near the 300m from the heels of a tiring runner and lost ground. HIZOU – Raced wide without cover.
