RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT KILCOY, THURSDAY, 6 SEPTEMBER 2018 WEATHER - FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – J. WilliamsonStewards – C. Albrecht, L. Hanson Race 1: Hedley Gittins Memorial QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 800m MISS MAKEPEACE – Apprentice C. Frater-Hill was reprimanded for failing to claim her full allowance. LICKETY LACHIE – The start of the race was delayed when the horse proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners. CONQUERMORE – Began awkwardly and made contact with CHOCOLATE OREO, then shifted out and bumped with PRUNDA. CHOCOLATE OREO – Bumped at the start. Jockey R. Ride reported her horse raced very greenly throughout the race and shifted out under pressure in the home straight. PRUNDA – Bumped at the start. EL DEMONIO – Hung out rounding the home turn, placing its rider at a disadvantage. Race 2: Con & Jenny Searle Maiden Plate – 1500m IN SEATTLE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jumped the 1200m crossing and became awkward. When the pace slackened after passing the 1200 shifted out to avoid heels when overracing and was then ridden forward to take up a position outside the lead passing the 600m. DUKE OF KINGSFORD – Slow to begin. Became awkward after jumping the 1200m crossing. HEATHER JOAN – Slow to begin. Obliged to steady from heels near the 1100m. HALF MOON BLUE – When asked to comment on the performance of his mount, which was below market expectations, jockey Tilley indicated that after shifting out to improve near the 600m the horse responded to his riding and after improving to the outside of DUKE OF KINGSFORD, shied away from that runner and proved very disappointing from the 400m. STONEFISH - Obliged to race in restricted room passing the winning post on the first occasion. Raced ungenerously with its head in the air when restrained and continued to do so until passing the 900m. NOBLE THOUGHT – Inconvenienced near the 100m and continued to be obliged to shift away from heels over the concluding stages. Apprentice H. Phillips, rider of HEIRSROC, was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten. SHE’S FOR RANSOM - Laid in passing the winning post on the first occasion, inconveniencing another runner. HEIRSROC – Raced 3 wide. HONEST NATALIE – Raced 3 wide. Race 3: Kilcoy BP Driveway Maiden H’cap – 1200m DALES LUCK – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. EDENANNIE - Slow to begin. Approaching the 1000m was placed in restricted room and had to be checked. Had difficulty securing clear running for a short distance passing the 400m. Hung out rounding the home turn. WINDQUEST – Slow to begin. COONOWRIN SILKY – Placed in restricted room on jumping away and was steadied. FILLY CHIC – Jumped away awkwardly, inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide. LUCKY’S LITTLE GIRL – Approaching the 1000m was placed in restricted room and had to be checked. STYLISH LOVER – Obliged to avoid heels approaching the 1000m and then became awkward and lost ground. BIANCATAK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Apprentice jockey H. Phillips reported her mount hung out rounding the home turn. Race 4: Butler McCDermott Lawyers Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1900m FELIX – Slow to begin. Obliged to race wide from the 1300m until the 800m. PETER PARKER – Restrained in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the fence. SHANDAARA – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1200m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have been galloped on on the near hind leg. LEPRECHAUN LAD – Overraced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels passing the winning post on the first occasion. Again restrained from heels near the 800m. SINGARAJA – Was restrained in the early stages and restrained from heels passing the winning post on the first occasion. VENETIAN BEAUTY – Overraced in the early stages and shifted out in the home straight on the first occasion, causing FELIX to be forced wider. Rider advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Race 5: Pump-it Environmental Services Benchmark 55 H’cap – 800m BAUHINIA STORM – Slow to begin, then tightened for room and lost ground. Jockey L. Tilley reported the horse was inclined to hang out throughout the event and shifted wider after passing the 400m. TELLOFF – Slow to begin. YOUR OPTION – Raced wide. DRAGON STREET – Blundered near the 250m. PORN STAR – The saddle shifted back when rounding the home turn, placing its rider at a slight inconvenience in the home straight. JACK HENRY – Apprentice H. English reported her mount hung out rounding the home turn and became awkward. HOLLYDEEN – Apprentice N. Fazackerley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that after that mare jumped away awkwardly and placed pressure on the mare allowed the horse to shift in when under pressure, resulting MJOLNIR being taken in, tightening the running of ZENKALI, which clipping heels and PORN STAR PETE blundering and losing ground. Stewards considered penalty and issued a reprimand given his status as an apprentice and extremely good record riding record in relation to careless riding matters. PORN STAR PETE – Tightened for room and clipped heels shortly after the start. MJOLNIR – Jockey T. Marshall reported her mount was awkward rounding the home turn and was steadied when placed in restricted room after passing the 400m. Race 6: Kilcoy Exchange Hotel Class 2 H’cap – 1200m HEROIC ROCK – L Tarrant replaced R. Williams as she was unable to fulfil the engagement due to being overweight. R Williams was reprimanded. RIVER BOY – Slow to begin. GRANDIOSO – Near the 900m improved onto heels when the pace slackened and continued to overrace until passing the 800m. Near the 400m improved on to heels and had to be steadied before shifting out and making contact with another runner. BENOVSKY – Bumped by another runner near the 400m and forced wider on the track and commenced to hang, shifting significantly wider on the track when entering the home straight. WAKE UP SAILOR – Forced wider after passing the 400m and made the home turn extremely wide. When asked to comment on the below market performance, rider T. Marshall stated that the gelding travelled well to the 600m, however when shifted wider on the track at that point of the race failed to respond to his riding and, in his opinion, was disappointing. DOUBLE FORTUNE – Raced wide throughout. EVE’S JET – Raced wide throughout. Race 7: Thank you Paul Dolan Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1500m FLAVIAN - Prior to the declaration of correct weight, apprentice N. Nakao applied to have her mount declared a non runner and as he believed the horse’s barrier gates failed to open. After viewing the video footage, Stewards agreed with apprentice Nakao’s assessment and declared the horse a non runner under AR134A. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 7 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets7 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets BRASSY BELLE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. TACTICAL MANUEVER – Slow to begin. BERNIE’S TIGER – Slow to begin. Held up from the 500m and obliged to steady from the heels of the weakening FORT MYER near the 300m and was unable to obtain clear running until the final 100m. BRASSY BELLE – Made the 1200m crossing awkwardly. CARTAGENA – Overraced after passing the winning post on the first occasion. QABLA – Raced wide throughout.
