Carey _________________________________ Race 1: Kilcoy Exchange Hotel QTIS 3yo Class 2 H’cap – 1060m REAL ORDEAL – Declared a late scratching at 12.37 pm after being injured in its tie-up stall. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable. 10 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets 15 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win16 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets Trainer D. Baker was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start. Correct weight was delayed to allow jockey K. Yoshida, rider of the 2nd placegetter, Love You Lucy, to view an incident which occurred shortly after the start. Subsequently, jockey K. Yoshida, lodged a protest against The Bumblebee being declared the winner on the grounds of interference near the 900m. Subsequently after taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, it was established that near the 900m, The Bumblebee did shift in, resulting in Love You Lucy having to be checked. Bearing in mind where the incident took place and the amount of ground lost and the finishing margins, the protest was dismissed and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings. At a subsequent inquiry jockey M. Gray, rider of The Bumblebee, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that at a point near the 900m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LOVE YOU LUCY, which was obliged to be checked. Jockey M. Gray was suspended from riding in races for a period of 13 days, to commence at midnight, 5 December and to expire at midnight, 18 December. JUST FAVULOUS – Hung in leaving the 900m. MISHANI VALENTINO – Tightened for room leaving the 900m. LOVE YOU LUCY – Checked approaching the 900m. Race 2: Pump-It Environmental Services Maiden Plate – 1060m CLUB SODA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. ALLEGRO VITA – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout with cover. PHONY PONY – Began awkwardly. LUCKY’S LIL GIRL – Had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 650m. Raced wide with cover throughout. GOOLBURRA GUY – Obliged to steady near the 650m. OUR SAY – Shifted in near the 650m, tightening runners to the inside. Jockey R. Ride, rider of OUR SAY, was advised to exercise more care. BEHIND THE THISTLE – Held up between the 500m and entering the home straight. SINGLE LASS – Held up over the concluding stages. BIANCATAK – Hung in in the early stages of the event. HARRY’S STAR – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: Tattersalls Racing Club Kilcoy Christmas Cup Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1900m TWO FOR THE ROAD – Raced wide in the early stages. Sustained an injury to the near foreleg and was eased out of the race over the concluding stages. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start. GENERAL ASSAULT – Raced wide in the early and middle stages before obtaining a trail one off near the 1200m. PRINCELY BLAZE – Brushed the fence near the 900m. Race 4: The Great Northern Cannonball Series Final Benchmark 80 H’cap – 800m The start of this event was delayed approximately 10 minutes to allow the ambulance to attend to an oncourse patron. VICEMAN – Tightened for room at the start. FIONNLAGH – Hung out rounding the home turn. BAGGER CHANCE – Raced wide throughout. REDEX – Raced wide throughout and had a tendency to lay in rounding the home turn. Race 5: Butler McDermott Lawyers Christmas Gift Class 1 H’cap – 1500m KASTANOS – The horse’s barrier gates were marginally slow to open. Had a tendency to lay in over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race. BACCHUR – Began awkwardly. SILK TOPPER – Slow to begin. Near the 700m had to be steadied when the pace eased. Leaving the 400m raced in restricted room for a short period of time. THE PONSTER – Bumped at the start. Rider C. Eaton dropped her whip at the entrance to the home straight. ABSTAIN – Near the 700m had to be steadied when the pace eased. DEVILLAIN – Made the crossing awkwardly at the 1200m. PIPEMAJOR – Rider J. Hoopert reported his mount lost its tongue-tie during the event. Near the 700m had to be steadied when the pace eased. FIELDS OF GLORY - A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer L. Garrett was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. MAMZAR – Trainer C. Vick was fined $100 for failing to advise a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, trainer C. Vick stated the mare appreciated the step up in distance today and, in her opinion, races best when able to lead. Race 6: Kilcoy Global Foods Class 3 Plate – 1200m H’cap – 1200m GRAND DE LAGO – Connections advised the horse would race in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse failed to muster early speed and raced in a midfield position. Leaving the 900m. shifted in. Rider M. Shimodaira advised to exercise more care. GRANDIOSO – Slow to begin. BEL CLASSICO – Steadied when obliged to race in restricted room near the 1100m. Inconvenienced near the 900m. Steadied approaching the 1000m again when placed in restricted room. Severely checked leaving the 700m. Jockey C. Small, rider of Snooper, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that leaving the 700m he rode in a careless manner in that he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Back Chat, which in turn was taken in across the running of Bel Classico, which had to be checked severely. Jockey Small was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 7 December, and to expire at midnight, 18 December 2018. BACK CHAT – Tightened for room near the 700m. DOCTOR ZED – Had to be steadied near the 400m when placed in restricted room. Jockey N. Thomas, rider of Tapa, was advised to exercise more care as a result of this incident. Near the 200m became awkward when placed under pressure.
