Race 1: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1060M
 
The start of this race was delayed when SPOOLING became fractious in the barriers, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Trainer R. Davidson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
NULLADANE – Tightened between EL PRADOS and SPOOLING on jumping. Hung out throughout and proved difficult to ride. Trainer M. Boland was advised that the gelding will require two further barrier certificates prior to racing again.
 
THE ORANGE MUPPET – Slow to begin.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Improved on to the heels of SPOOLING approaching the home turn and had to be steadied. Hung out leaving the 300m and had to be steadied from the heels of THE ORANGE MUPPET, and again leaving the 200m had to be steadied from the heels of SPOOLING, which shifted out. L. Dillon, the rider of SPOOLING, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
EL PRADOS – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide until allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead leaving the 700m. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
SERTIN – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with EL PRADOS. Raced greenly throughout and hung out passing the 700m.
 
SPOOLING – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in.  
 
Race 2: TAB F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1060M
 
The start of this race was delayed initially when RAPID ASCENT dislodged rider J. Bayliss en route to the barriers. Following a subsequent veterinary examination behind the barriers which cleared the horse to race, the horse bridle was replaced.
 
PRINCESS FLO, which reared over in the enclosure, dislodging H. Phillips, and then refused to parade to the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 1:59 pm. Trainer K. Afford was advised that PRINCESS FLO must parade to the barriers satisfactorily and barrier trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again.
 
DACKARNA, which was kicked by another runner behind the barriers, sustaining a laceration to the inside of the near hind leg, was declared a late scratching at 2:02 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
 
On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on PRINCESS FLO and DACKARNA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 1:59 pm:

2 cents in the dollar for the win #5
6 cents in the dollar for place of winner #5
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #10
3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #13
 
And with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed between 1:59 pm and 2:02 pm:
 
2 cents in the dollar for the win #5
4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #5
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #10
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #13
 
ARCHERESS – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in, hampering SONO DOLCE.
 
DE VEGA PEACH – Raced greenly in the straight.
 
FRENCH VIDA – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
 
MAJESTIC IVY – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out. Shifted wider by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
SINGLE LASS – Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 800m.
 
UNO EYNO –  Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider. C. Bayliss reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay out at stages during the event.
 
RAPID ASCENT – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
VINROSE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out. When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly disappointing performance, A. Mallyon explained that whilst the horse travelled well and was able to race close to the rail, it did not finish off the race as expected and proved disappointing. Mr Eggleston, representative for trainer K. Lees, indicated that the horse’s  current racing preparation would be reviewed following its performance today.
 
SONO DOLCE – Hampered between runners on jumping. Shifted out to obtain clear running from the 600m and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 3: KILCOY CHRISTMAS CUP SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER CLASS 2 PLATE – 1500M
 
PRODUCE ME LATE underwent a veterinary examination after rider C. Bayliss advised that he had concerns with the horse’s action en route to the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2:33 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on PRODUCE ME LATE be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:33 pm:

 0 cents in the dollar for the win #8
 4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #8
 1 cent in the dollar for 2nd place #5
 6 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3
 
Trainer C. Richardson was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start.
 
BONSEA – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
SHINAR – After being caught wide in the early stages the horse was allowed to stride forward before taking up a position outside the leader approaching the 1200m.
 
A LITTLE WICKED – Commenced to weaken approaching the 300m and finished at the rear of the field. Trainer M. Kropp advised it was his intention to retire the gelding from his stable. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
MR PIQUET – Jumped awkwardly.
 
GROOVY PLAYMATE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 4: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1900M
 
MISSILE ATTACK – Slow to begin.
 
LUCY LE ROC – Due to traffic difficulties, B. Thornton was unable to arrive on course to fulfil his engagement and was replaced by J. Bayliss.
 
AHMAH STAR – Inconvenienced near the 1200m, forced wider by another runner and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
LEGS UNBARRED – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
PERSISTENT SHADOW – Raced keenly in the early stages. Made the crossing near the 1200m awkwardly, shifted wider and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Rider dropped her whip at the 100m. When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance, trainer L. Wanless advised that the horse has proved difficult to ride in the past and it was suited  by the pattern of today’s race. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
WENDOUREE RED – Slow to begin.
 
PIPEMAJOR – As L. Tilley was to be overweight R. Goltz was substituted as rider. L. Tilley was fined $300 under AR190(4). In determining penalty stewards were mindful of jockey Tilley’s recent infringements of this rule. Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition. After jumping from a wide barrier and being caught wide in the early stages, the horse was allowed to stride forward before obtaining the position outside the leader near the 1400m.
 
Race 5: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS 2019 CANNONBALL SERIES (HEAT) BENCHMARK 68 H’CAP – 800M
 
FLAME OF LIBERTY – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LIL RUBY ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
MOUNTAIN COURAGE – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SI SI SEQUALO – Jumped away awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Rider S. Sweeney was reminded of her obligations when her mounts shift ground in similar circumstances.
 
LEICA FIRECRACKER – Trainer T. Thomas was fined $100 under LR67(1) for failing to declare E. Ljung as rider by the prescribed time. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: LIONEL RICHARDS LIFE MEMBER CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1060M
 
SPLENDID SPIRIT – Laid in under pressure near the 150m, making contact with COACHES AWARD.
 
WITHIN THE RULES – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in. Had to be steadied leaving the 800m when placed in restricted room. Improved on to the heels of COUPE DE VILLE near the 400m and had to be steadied. Inclined to lay in in the home straight.
 
COACHES AWARD – Inconvenienced near the 150m when bumped by SPLENDID SPIRIT.
 
NAMO KEKENI – Trainer T. Button was fined $100 for failing to effect a gear change of cross-over nose-band off by the prescribed time.
 
VALLEY CROSSING – Trainer T. Thomas was fined $100 under LR67(1) for failing to declare S. Bogenhuber as rider by the prescribed time. Slow to begin.
 
MISS LITERATI – Slow to begin.
 
TARGETS – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 7: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1200M
 
Stewards inquired into an incident approaching and passing the winning post where ALLE VONGOLE and THE LAST SEQUALO, which had been racing tight, made contact and were then tightened for room by HARRY’S STAR, which shifted in away from BOOM ROCKER. As a result of this contact, THE LAST SEQUALO had to be checked and shortly after ALLE VONGOLE also had to be checked just past the finishing line when tightened by THE LAST SEQUALO, which was taken in by HARRY’S STAR, which had  been tightened by BOOM ROCKER. Both A. Fancourt (HARRY’S STAR) and G. Geran (BOOM ROCKER) were reminded of their obligations to take greater measures to keep their mounts straight in the run to the finish and passing the finishing line.
 
SOLID ASSET – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and turned in, hampering SMOKIN’ HUSSAY. Raced wide and raced greenly throughout and made the home turn awkwardly.
 
THE LAST SEQUALO – Made contact with ALLE VONGOLE approaching and passing the finishing line, tightened for room and had to be checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had a minor abrasion to the off foreleg.
 
ALLE VONGOLE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out, hampering SMOKIN’ HUSSAY. Bumped with NOT TONIGHT DEAR approaching the 1000m. Made contact with THE LAST SEQUALO approaching the finishing line. Had to be checked after passing the finishing line when tightened for room.
 
ATOMIC MISSILE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out. Had to be steadied leaving the 800m when placed in restricted room. Had to be steadied from the heels of BOOM ROCKER approaching the 500m when that runner shifted in.
 
SMOKIN’ HUSSAY – Hampered between runners shortly after the start. Had to be steadied near the 150m after improving on to the heels of LADY MICAELA.
 
NOT TONIGHT DEAR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bumped with ALLE VONGOLE approaching the 1000m.
