General – After being dislodged from his mount at the Gold Coast 21/3/2020 App. Tomlinson successfully completed a Cognitive test which cleared him to fulfil his engagements at today’s meeting.

Race 1: TAB Maiden Plate 800m

DUREADY – Slow to begin

MR MOONLIGHT – Jumped awkwardly and shift out bumping the runner to its outside. Approaching the 700m had to be steadied when placed in restricted when STAR BARISTRA shifted in, App I Teh was reprimanded under AR131(a) as a result of this incident.

SPOOLING – Jumped awkwardly make heavy contact with the barrier partition momentarily unbalancing its rider. Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.

STAR BARISTA – Became fractious on the float en route to today’s meeting and underwent an Veterinary examination on arrival. Found to have suffered slight abrasions to the hind quarters and was cleared to race. Approaching the 100m had to alter course when EDDIEGATO laid in under pressure.

EDDIEGATO – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout and laid in under pressure in the home straight

BOLD ADMIRAL – Slow to begin and raced 3 wide with cover. Hung out round rounding the home turn.

ARTSPLACE – Hung out severely rounding the home turn. Jockey A Fancourt reported that on pulling up the gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise, which was confirmed by the Veterinarian upon examination. Trainer B Lockwood was advised that the results of an endoscopic examination and a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again.

Race 2: Searles Garden Products Benchmark 68 Handicap 1500m

ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

MISS FLAWLESS – Trainer C.Taylor was fined $100 for failing to declared a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Over raced whilst being restrained in the early and middle stages.

COUNTER MEAL – Raced in a 3 wide position before striding forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 800m.


Race 3: Kilcoy Global Foods Maiden Plate 1500m

CAIRNDOW – Fractious in the barriers. Approaching the 1000m was severely checked, blundered and became unbalanced. Jockey R Faehr (DADDY WARBUCKS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of PITTSBURGH PHIL which was taken in onto REG ‘N’ KATH who in turn was taken in onto LOVE IS ALL AROUND which shifted in and taking up the rightful running of CAIRNDOW resulting in the gelding having to be severely checked and blundered. Jockey R Faehr’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of fifteen (15) days to commence midnight 29 March 2020 and expire midnight 13 April 2020. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a small laceration to its off fore leg.

GALVARINO – Hung out approaching the 1200m forcing runners to its outside wider on the course, connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.

REG ‘N’ KATH – Approaching 1000m was placed in restricted room, shifted in and had to be checked and lost ground

LOVE IS ALL AROUND – Approaching 1000m was placed in restricted room and shifted in. Held up for clear running from the 400m until the 200m.

BRIGHTER DAYS – Taken out approaching the 1200m crossing and was shifted wider on the track. Cast the off front shoe in running.


DADDY WARBUCKS –Raced 3 wide from the 1000m. Passing the 400m was forced wider by REG ‘N’ KATH which shifted out to improve.

MADAME TESS – Held up for clear running from the 300m until the 100m.

EDGE OF EAVES – Approaching the 1100m put in an awkward stride and made contact with the running rail. A short distance later was had to be checked from the heels of CAIRNDOW which had blundered and lost ground.

Race 4: Butler McDermott Lawyers Benchmark 58 Handicap 1900m

HARADIFY – Began awkwardly and raced in restricted room from the 1500m until a point passing the 1000m

LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Jumped awkwardly making contact with runner to its outside

IRON DUKE – Tightened between runners upon jumping.

CASINO GOLD – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Shortly after the start was steadied from the heels of THE POTATO PONTIFF (App M Savva) which shifted in at that point of the race. App M Savva was reprimanded for this incident.

THE POTATO PONTIFF – Slow to begin. Approaching the 300m was crowded for room between LITTLE DRUMMER BOY and IRON DUKE which was taken out slightly by HARADIFY which shifted out to improve.

DONT CHEAT CHARLIE – Raced 3 wide throughout.


Race 5: Kilcoy Diggers Day 18 April QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 3 Handicap 1060m

Start was delayed when ARNWOOD had to be reshod after losing its off fore shoe en route to the barriers.

BOOMSTRESS – Jumped away awkwardly and was inclined to lay out approaching the 800m. After passing the 400m was inconvenienced and had to be steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of AFTER THE STORM.

WHITTINGTON WAYS – Began awkwardly bumping WRITE THE RULES. Approaching the 700m elected to restrain to obtain cover.

WRITE THE RULES – Bumped on jumping.

AHEADOFHISTIME – Raced keen in the early and middle stages.

ARNWOOD – Raced 3 wide throughout and hung out for the majority of the race.

LUCKY SENATOR – Slow to begin. Approaching the 100m had to alter course when improving onto the heels of ARNWOOD.

Race 6: Great Northern Class 3 Handicap 1060m

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey L.Tilley, rider of SEEYARON, to view the stewards patrol footage and ascertain if there were grounds to lodge an objection. Jockey L.Tilley elected not to proceed and Stewards declared correct weight on the judges placings.

LILLI LIGHTS OUT – Brushed with SEEYARON approaching the winning post.

YOUR OPTION – Improved onto the heels of BLACK JAGUAR leaving the 600m and had to be steadied. Approaching the 250m bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced.

SEEYARON – Brushed with LILLI LIGHTS OUT approaching the winning post.

VON ROSEN – Raced 4 wide early and restrained to obtain cover leaving the 700m

IMPACABLE –Approaching the 250m had to severely checked when tightened for room to the inside of BLACK JAGUAR which shifted in, and as a resulted had to be shifted wider across the heels of BLACK JAGUAR making heavy contact with the hind quarters of YOUR OPTION. App M Savva pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in near the 250m causing interference to IMPLACABLE. App Savva’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of twelve (12) days to commence midnight 22 March 2020 and expire midnight 3 April 2020.

BLACK JAGUAR – Trainer M Boland was fined $100 for failing to declared a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Began awkwardly.

CRISTOVAO – Slow to begin.

HARRY’S STAR – Raced wide with cover.


Race 7: Kilcoy Exchange Hotel Colts, Geldings and Entires Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200m

DER SIEGER– Hampered shorlty after the start and lost ground. Approaching 800m became awkward and made contact with the running rail becoming unbalanced and shifting out making contact with RAINBOW SPIRIT who was crowed as a result became unbalance and lost ground. Approaching the 700m improved onto the heels of GOSSIAUX and had to be steadied.

TRUMPFUL – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced 3 wide in the early stages.


POETIC CHOICE– Raced 3 wide in the early stages.

RAINBOW SPIRIT – Approaching the 1000m had to be checked when crowed for room between DONE IT AGAIN and BLACK ENVY which laid in dispite the efforts of its rider. Again approaching the 800m had to check and lost ground when tightened between runners. Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a laceration to its off side knee.

RED MONKEY– Approaching the 300m was awkwardly placed at the heels of TRUMPFUL and shifted wider.


Race 8: Somerset Regional Council Fillies and Mares Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200m

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable Stewards to consider an objection lodged immediately following the race by L Cheshire the rider of 2nd placegetter GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS, against MAKE ME RICH WITCH (N Tomizawa) being placed 1st, alleging interference near the 100m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards found that whilst MAKE ME RICH WITCH laid in under pressure approaching the 100m brushing with GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS, they could not be satisfied that the interference suffered to GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS was sufficient to uphold the protest. Stewards therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.

RAIN ON ME – Passing 400m had to be check when crowded for room when MELLORE laid in away from COUPE DE VILLE which shifted in to obtain the lead. Jockey G Geran reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when not fully clear. In determining penalty stewards were mindful of the racing manners of MELLORE.

MELLORE - passing 400m was crowded and laid in away from COUPE DE VILLE, tightening RAIN ON ME to its inside

LEICA FIRECRACKER – Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of EXCEEDINGLY MEHGA which shifted in momentarily.

SIOUXSIE - slow to begin

SPEAKING BETTER – began awkwardly threw its head in the air

EXCEEDINGLY MEHGA– Raced 3 wide with cover throughout

GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Approaching 100m brushed with MAKE ME RICH WITCH which laid out under pressure. Jockey N Tomizawa was reminded of his obligations when allowing his mounts to shift ground.

PAT’S GIRL - Raced wide after passing the 600m

RATHER SALUBRIOUS – Approaching the 100m was disappointed for a run to the outside of MAKE ME RICH WITCH and altered course to the inside to obtain clear running
