GENERAL
 
As M. Murphy was injured, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: MICHAEL WRONA 1983 KILCOY MAIDEN PLATE – 1060M
 
KERBSIDE KAOS – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
FINDLETON – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in. Raced greenly throughout. G. Steele weighed in in excess of half a kilogram of the horse’s allotted weight.
 
SCRUFF’N’STUFF – Stood flat-footed and was slow to begin. Stewards questioned apprentice A. Patis regarding her riding over the concluding stages. She stated that approaching the 100m she shifted to the inside of OLYMPIC DAWN to obtain clear running and was disappointed. She then elected to shift her mount out and was further disappointed when that runner shifted out, resulting in her mount being unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
SQUARE DANCE – Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
ZAGITOVA – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
LUNA AMANTE – Raced three wide without cover.
 
OLYMPIC DAWN – Disappointed for a run approaching the 50m when KERBSIDE KAOS laid in. Shifted out and inconvenienced another runner near the 50m.
 
Race 2: THANKS TATTERSALLS RACING CLUB MAIDEN H'CAP – 1500M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed after the Judges notified stewards that an error had been made in the placings originally semaphored for 1st and 2nd. Connections of both runners were given an opportunity to view the photo finish image and were satisfied with the Judges’ amended placings of SHIVAJI (1st) and DEBONAIR DES (2nd) and accordingly correct weight was declared on the placings 11, 13, 4 and 12.
 
CAIRNSY – Trainer J. Symons was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card.
 
KINGSPIEL’S LEGACY – Slow to begin and failed to muster any early speed.  Weakened noticeably from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BISHOJO – Improved on to the heels of SCANTILY CLAD passing the winning post on the first occasion and had to be steadied. Raced greenly for the majority of the event.
 
FROM NOW – Bumped the running rail approaching the 1000m. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SCANTILY CLAD – As J. Woodhouse was to be overweight, J. Bayliss was substituted as the rider of the mare. J. Woodhouse was fined $100 for failing to fulfil the engagement. Hung out rounding the first turn and shifted wider.
 
STONEFISH – Laid out under pressure approaching the 50m
 
DEBONAIR DES – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Race 3: TAB QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 800M
 
LET’S CHEER AGAIN – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
GIDEONS – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
WOOHOO GIRL – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SHEEZE DELISH – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: SEARLE FAMILY KILCOY BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1500M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow H. Phillips, the rider of 2nd placegetter MODERN FAMILY, to view the stewards’ patrol footage near the 1000m to determine whether she had grounds on which to lodge an objection against the winner DER SIEGER. After viewing the videos jockey Phillips indicated that she did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.
 
GREY TOP – Overraced in the early stages.
 
MINOAN SPIRIT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages despite the efforts of its rider.
 
TYRIAN – Had to be steadied leaving the 100m when racing in restricted room to the inside of MINOAN SPIRIT, which shifted in momentarily.
 
SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN – Slow to begin.
 
MODERN FAMILY – Buffeted between runners on jumping. Approaching the 1000m was momentarily steadied from the heels of DER SIEGER, which shifted in.
 
TRUMPFUL – Raced three wide with cover in the early and middle stages.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1900M
 
AIRLIE MAN – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide from the 1200m.
 
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BRUMBY JACK – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
METALLURGIST – Jumped with its head in the air. Jockey L. Tilley reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding from the 1200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer D. Hansen in following days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.
 
TACTICAL MANUEVER – Hampered upon jumping. Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
REAL IT IN - Connections advised that it would be the intention for the filly to be ridden further forward in the field today if circumstances permit. Raced accordingly
 
Race 6: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
HELLO SPIRIT – Trainer J. Symons was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card.
 
SKALD – Raced three wide throughout.
 
STAR BARISTA – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
CHARLOTTE’S GIRL – Held up rounding the home turn before shifting to the inside of GOD OF MISCHIEF to secure clear running.
 
IMPLACABLE – Held up from the 600m to a point rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: THANKS BEAVIS & BARTELS FAMILIES RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 H'CAP – 1060M
 
HEAVENLY ARCHER – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Shifted wider rounding the home turn, inconveniencing another runner.
 
KENTFORD – Approaching the finish line had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of TIZ  which shifted in momentarily.
 
CLICKETY CLICKS – Clipped heels shortly after the start and blundered. Tightened for room and had to be eased rounding the home turn when HEAVENLY ARCHER shifted out. Apprentice S. Tomlinson, the rider of HEAVENLY ARCHER, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear of another runner.
 
HARRY’S STAR – Bumped and lost ground approaching the 800m. Raced wide throughout.
 
DE VEGA PEACH – Raced ungenerously for the majority of the event. Improved on to the heels of COACHES AWARD approaching the 600m, clipped heels and blundered.
 
WINDQUEST– Raced wide throughout and was forced wider rounding the home turn.
 
MELLORE – Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 800m.
 
COACHES AWARD – Raced three wide without cover. Forced wider rounding the home turn.
