MR STACK – Rider L. Tilley advised Stewards that the gelding travelled well throughout the event but failed to finish the race off as he had anticipated. Rider Tilley attributed the performance to the gelding resuming from a significant break and that Mr Stack would take benefit from the run.

CURRY CONNECTION – Raced wide throughout the event. Ran wider on the track when entering the home straight.

LIVELY LASS – Raced three wide throughout the event.

VALERIE – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey A Spinks reported that VALERIE would be better suited racing over distances further than that of today’s event.

CLANG’S TATT – Slow to begin. Made the turn at the 800m awkwardly and shifted wider on the track.

FASTEST TRIGGER – Raced wide throughout the event. Ran wider on the track entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer S. Barling was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.

HUSH PUPPY – Slow into stride. Baulked at the running rail passing the 500m and became awkward in its stride almost dislodging its rider. Trainer K. Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the gelding.

I AM JIMMY – Laid out passing the 800m carrying VAN D’ORO out onto MOVE BY.

MOVE BY – Hampered passing the 800m. Hampered and carried wider passing the 200m.

Teh (PEACHIES DREAM) in the presence of senior rider G. Steele, pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SWAN ISLAND. After hearing submissions on penalty, Stewards suspended Apprentice I. Teh from riding in races for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 26th January 2022 to midnight 2nd February 2022. Apprentice I. Teh was advised of her right to an internal review.

GOLDEN WHITT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

JOLLO – Rider L. Tilley reported that his mount may have had a respiratory issue which contributed to the gelding weakening over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than a slow post-race recovery.

ANGELIC ARCHER – Laid out rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure approaching the 50m before being corrected by its rider.
