App Williams was fined $600 under AR143(14).Following a report from Compliance Assurance Team (CAT), Stewards inquired into the reason for a bottle of Acepromazine (ACP 25) being brought onto the racecourse precinct by trainer J Johnston at today’s Kilcoy race meeting.Mr Johnston explained the reason for the product being in the vehicle was for the use on family showjumpers and had been an oversight on his part in bringing the product on course today and gave an undertaking that his runner EVELYN SALT had not been treated leading up to the event. A swab sample was taken from the horse.After considering all evidence Mr Johnston pleaded guilty to a charge under AR251(1)(b)(ii) in that he did, without written permission from Stewards, have in his possession in the vehicle used to transport the racehorse EVELYN SALT to the Kilcoy race meeting on Saturday 26th August, a bottle of Acepromazine that could be used to produce a prohibited substance in a horse. Mr Johnston was fined $500.Stewards also inquired into the reason for a bottle of Acepromazine (ACP 25) being brought onto the racecourse precinct by trainer R Cameron at today’s race meeting.Mr Cameron explained the reason for the product being in the vehicle was an oversight on his part in bringing the product on course today and gave an undertaking that his runner MIKKI KIREINA had not been treated with this product leading up to the event. Race 1 - SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap 1200MDANE ROAD – Laid in under pressure approaching the 100m before being corrected by riderCAPTURED IN TIME – Slow to beginEMPEROR TEIO – Slow to begin. Near the 400m laid in of its own accord, brushed the running rail and became unbalanced.Following the running of this event the track was upgraded retrospectively to a Good 4. Race 2 - KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL Class 2 Handicap 800MJET SPINNER - After being loaded into the barriers became fractious resulting in rider A Donald being injured and unable to fulfill her commitment. The horse was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1.08pm, with all bets to be refunded and the following deductions to apply:1st: STEEL MY THUNDER - 4 cents win, 3 cents place2nd: HERO’S TRINKET - 6 cents place 3rd: THE WAITING MAN - 8 cents place App A Donald was examined by QAS staff and stood down for her remaining rides and will require a medical clearance before resuming race riding. As a result, this race started approximately three minutes late. Due to App A Donald being transported to hospital, all remaining races put back one time slot with Race 8 to be run at 5.12pm.EVELYN SALT – Raced wide for the majority of the eventSTEEL MY THUNDER – On arrival at barriers the saddle on the horse was adjusted.HERO’S TRINKET – Bumped at the start.THE WAITING MAN – Jumped out at start and bumped HERO’S TRINKETBLUE SMARTIE – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn.CRAIGLEA LAKI – Hung out badlyrounding the home turn. Trainer K Johnston was advised the mare must trial satisfactory prior to its next start.LAST LAUGH – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 3 - GAYTHORNE RSL BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1500MHURI BLACK – Checked passing the winning post on first occasion.MIKKI EIGHT – Checked passing the winning post on the first occasion.BELLICOSE – Checked passing the winning post on first occasion. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination of BELLICOSE revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Connections were advised that BWELLICOSE would incur a three month ban from racing under AR79(4) and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. CLEAR BLONDE – Severely checked approaching the 1000m. BEST SONG – Made the turn out of home straight on the first occasion awkwardly.BELLE’S BOY – Hung out badly passing the winning post on the first occasion, resulting in HURI BALICK, MARMION, BELLICOSE all being checked to varying degrees. Trainers representative S Drake was advised the horse must trial officially prior to its next race start. SISYPHEAN – Hung out passing the winning post on first occasion checking both MIKKI EIGHT and THE ANGELS KISS. Raced wide for majority. Crowed for room and taken in near the 1000m. Following a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Frappell advised the horse would now be sent for an immediate spell.MYSTERIOUS LADY – Tightened for room and checked near the 1000m.MARMION – Checked passing the winning post on first occasion.THE ANGELS KISS – Checked passing the winning post on the first occasion.As a result of a number of riders having to fulfill commitments at the Toowoomba meeting, Stewards adjourned an inquiry into an incident that occurred near the 1000m to a time and date to be fixed. Race 4 - BRIBIE ISLAND RSL BENCHMARK 62 Handicap (2000 METRES)COAXIAL – Raced wide throughout the majority.BOOMIE’S BUDDY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.D’ESPRIT – When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider N Tomizawa reported the horse was having its first start today with the blinkers removed, and that it was his opinion that this had a detrimental effect on the performance of the horse today. Post race veterinary exam revealed no abnormalities. CORBIN – Slow to begin. Race 5 - THE DAG PUB D'AGUILAR Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1200MMIKKI KIREINA – From the wide barrier draw was restrained shortly after the start to a rear wood position. Following the disappointed performance trainer R Cameron was advised the horse would be stood down from racing at TAB venues until it establishes form at country non-TAB tracksCHICKA – Raced wide for the majority of the event.CAPITAL MEG – Began awkwardly, lost ground.HELEN’S DREAM – Prior to the start reared three times delaying the start. Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with offside barrier partition. Post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to offside knee and superficial cut to the off side nostril. In light of the mare’s poor barrier manners a warning would be placed on the horse.DIVINE CHARM – Raced wide for majority of the event.SHOOT THE BOSS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.TERESHKOVA – Jumped out at start and checked CAPITAL MEG. Race 6 - BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS KILCOY VIETNAM VETERANS CUP BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1900MSPRINGTHORPE – Jumped outwards and awkwardly.SOOBPURB DANCER – Jumped outwards.ANGELS SHARE – Over raced early stages.MARINSKY – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. After being slow to begin raced in a rearward position. Passing the 1200m shifted out and improved into a three wide position before being checked near the 800m. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that after racing in restricted room between SOOBPURB DANCER, which was travelling in a loose one-off position, and MOVE BEYOND which was travelling to the outside of MARINSKY, SOOBPURB DANCER shifted out marginally bumping MARINSKY and MOVE BEYOND shifted in marginally resulting in MARINSKY having to be checked. Bearing in mind the racing manners of both SOOPURB DANCER and MOVE BEYOND, Stewards took no direct action other than advise all riders to exercise care in similar circumstances. SEERESS – Slow to begin.MOVE BEYOND – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Despite the efforts of its rider was caught wide in the early and middle stages of the event and near the 800m turn was taken wider on the track. Race 7 - CALOUNDRA RSL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1200MHIDDEN SPRING – Checked between runners at the start and lost ground. Hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary exam revealed lacerations to the off-hind leg, consistent with having been galloped on. RHAPALONG – After being slow to begin was checked between runners and lost ground.GOSSIAUX – Checked between runners at the start and lost ground.MILANO BOOM – Jumped in at the start resulting in crowding to runners to the inside.DESERT FLAME – After being slow to begin was checked between runners and lost ground.ALL DASH – Jumped out at the start resulting in crowding to runners to the outside. Race 8 - VIETNAM VETERANS ASSN REDCLIFFE / DOUG MORRIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1200MPRINCESS OF DIAMONDS – Shifted out on jumping onto EVANESCENT.I’M HITCHIN’ BRO – Bumped on jumping. Rounding the home turn was crowded for room between AURORA DANCER and EVANESCENT which shifted out when not fully clear. K GATES, rider of EVANESCENT was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. Rider reported the horse made an abnormal noise during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.DREAMER’S GIFT – Jumped inwards and bumped I’M HITCHIN’ BRO.AURORA DANCER – Shifted in on jumping.CRAIGLEA ETNA – Shifted in shortly after the start and bumped ROMAN REIGN. Raced wide throughout.EVANESCENT – Inconvenienced at the start when PRINCE OF DIAMONDS shifted out and AURORA DANCER shifted in.ROMAN REIGN – Bumped shortly after the start.
