Following storm activity in the area, race times were amended as per the following:
Race 2 – 2.35pm
Race 3 – 3.10pm
Race 4 – 3.45pm
Race 5 – 4.10pm

LEUCAENA – Slow to begin and bumped shortly afterwards.

Race 2: LADBROKES BLACK BOOK MAIDEN HANDICAP    1500 Metres

The start of this event was delayed due to lightning and storm activity in the area, with the amended start time of 2.35pm for this event.

DESTINY GUNGHO – Change of tactics, to be ridden further back if circumstances permit due to the step up in distance. Ridden accordingly. Caught wide throughout.

LADY BOSSA NOVA – Near the 900m, left a one wide trailing position, progressed forward and raced wide for the remainder of the event.

GIRL AMONG MANY – When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, rider S. Collett reported that the mare was not suited by the step up in distance and in her opinion, would be better suited to shorter distances than today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

LITERACY – Had to be restrained from heels for some distance between the 800m and the 600m when the pace of the race steadied.
