SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
Stewards approved the following overweights:
Race 1: LAST LAUGH – J. Stanley + 0.5kg
 
 
Race 1: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL/GREAT NORTHERN CANNONBALL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 800 M
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing connections of MR POLAR which placed second, to view the Stewards footage of the home straight. Subsequently, connections did not wish to take the matter further and correct weight was declared on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
MR POLAR – Approaching the 100m, had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between IT’S HELLS BELLS and MASSABIELLE which shifted out.
 
OBLIVION – Approaching the winning post, when improving quickly, restrained from the heels of MASSABIELLE which shifted marginally.
 
ABOVE THE WORLD – Apprentice L. O’Donnell was fined $100 pursuant to AR 143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
 
MASSABIELLE – Commenced to hang out approaching and rounding the home turn, shifting wider on the track. Trainer T. Haydon was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for hanging out.
 
MAGIC TALENT – Tightened for room at the start between runners.
 
GOLDEN REVOLUTION – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 2: KILCO GLOBAL FOODS/KILCOY BP DRIVEWAY MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
ENCLASSIC – Commenced to weaken from the 600m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T. Dougall stated that he would discuss the geldings racing future with connections. Stewards advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed against ENCLASSIC and that the gelding would be barred to non-TAB race meetings until it establishes better form.
 
FREEMAN FURY – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 1000m, shifted out taking KOBE ASCOT wider resulting in TYSON’S FURY which was following and racing keenly, getting its head in the air and being steadied.
 
KANSAS SUN – Steadied from the heels of TYSON’S FURY approaching the 1000m. Near the 700m, momentarily steadied when racing in restricted room.
 
SAINTS WATER – Underwent a re-saddle upon arrival at the barriers.
 
TYSON’S FURY – Approaching the 1000m, commenced to race keenly with its head in the air and then shifted out resulting in KANSAS SUN being steadied. Raced wide throughout.
 
TWILIGHT SPARKLE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey A. Bakos-Schrapel reported her saddle had slipped back on jumping, placing her at a disadvantage throughout the event.
 
MERRON DARCY – Jockey H. Richardson reported the filly had lost its tongue tie in running.
 
TABEI – When asked to comment on her riding in the home straight, Jockey B. Andrew stated that upon straightening, a run between the leader FREEMAN FURY and KOBE ASCOT became restricted when both runners shifted ground. She stated she elected to steady and shift to the outside of KOBE ASCOT leaving the 100m, however was awkwardly placed on that runner’s heels, and with HALF MOON ROO improving to her outside, was unable to fully test her mount over the concluding stages. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
Race 3: LADBROKES RACING CLUB QTIS RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
YAMUMZA – Raced wide throughout. Jockey C. Meehan reported his mount hung out throughout the race.

UNCLE BUD – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
NINE CIGARS – When asked to comment on the performance, Apprentice B. Moffat stated that the gelding was not suited by the fast tempo of today’s race which he felt had a detrimental effect on the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of a slow recovery.
 
GRANDEUR ROSE – Apprentice T. Wheeler reported that it was his intention to race in a forward position, however when only beginning on even terms, he was obliged to race further back with cover and felt this had an effect on the mare’s overall performance.
 
 
Race 4: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL AUSTRALIA DAY CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
KENNY BOY – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Apprentice T. Wheeler reported his saddle slipped shortly after the start placing him at a disadvantage.
 
FRENCH COMET – Commenced to weaken from near the 600m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed FRENCH COMET to be displaying symptoms of cardiac arrythmia. Trainer K. Stabe was advised that FRENCH COMET will require a veterinary clearance including a satisfactory ECG report and must also trial or gallop over 1000m prior to racing again.
 
GALLERY MASTER – Raced wide throughout.
 
GERTANIE – Bumped on jumping.
 
FLICK – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 5: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS/LEONARD JOHN ‘WHISKEY’ WALKER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1500 M
 
THE LOVE OF MARY underwent a veterinary examination upon arriving on-course due to sustaining a laceration during transport and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:38pm on veterinary advice.
 
ROCKED – Began awkwardly, shifted in on jumping and bumped TAKEMEOUTBACK, which in turn bumped SUMMER STAR. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
MAXIE TAP – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
TORO DE CARGA – Slow to begin and lost ground. Raced wide until approaching the 800m before obtaining cover. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice L. O’Donnell stated that she was obliged to race wide until near the 800m and felt this had a detrimental effect on the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of a slow recovery.
 
PAULI – Approaching the 1200m, shifted out and was checked when awkwardly placed on the heels of BELLE’S BOY, a short distance later made the crossing awkwardly.
 
SUMMER STAR – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide until near the 800m.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Began awkwardly and a short distance later was bumped by ROCKED which shifted in. Raced wide until near the 800m. Apprentice J. Metcalfe reported she dropped her whip near the 200m.
 
CASINO COAST – Slow to begin. Jockey C. Meehan was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(6)(b) for for using the whip in an action which raises his arm above shoulder height.
