1st – BELLA MONTANA 2nd – MAKTIG PANIS VITAE 3rd – THAT’S HARRY 4th – NOELA’S ROMP

Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer D. Gollan into the reason S. Richardson was a late declaration as the rider of NOELA’S ROMP.

Correct weight was delayed when L. McCoy, the rider of ISADORA GOLD requested to view the start of the race to ascertain if she was afforded a fair start. After viewing the film L. McCoy agreed that whilst the barrier gates were marginally slow to open it did not have a material affect on the horses finishing position.

Correct weight was further delayed when apprentice S. Wiseman, the rider of MAKTIG PANIS VITAE requested to view the official photo finish print, subsequently S. Wiseman was satisfied with the judge’s decision and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.

BREAK THE BLUES (A. Smith) began awkwardly.

ISADORA GOLD (L. McCoy) and PRIVATE BOUNTY (W. Clasohm) which were both slow to begin made contact shortly after the start when both horses shifted ground.

BREAK THE BLUES hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider.

LOVE OUR GIRLS (S. Egan) and DOUBLE TOP (B. Thomson) raced wide for the majority of the race.

On returning to the enclosure BELLA MONTANA shied away from the clerk of the course horse and in doing so made contact with the gate post becoming unbalanced causing its off side rump to become cast for a short time. A subsequent veterinary examination of BELLA MONTANA revealed superficial abrasions and bruising.

Race 2: MURRAY VALLEY MEAT CO./CARLINE MUFFLERS/KUMBIA HOTEL CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M

In mediation with all concerned riders and connections, whilst it was agreed the barriers did not open simultaneously, the amount of ground lost by concerned horses had no material effect on the finishing position of any runner and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.

PELLADANA (J. Murphy) commenced to hang out leaving the 800m and near the 400m had to be restrained when shifting out across the heels of LITTLE ZACKERY (A. Smith) which shifted in. Whilst the racing manners of PELLADANA were noted, A. Smith, the rider of LITTLE ZACKERY was advised to exercise more care in keeping her mounts straight.
