Maloney GENERAL: Due to no available riders the following horses were declared late scratchings at 9:05am: Race 3 RINGO’S MAGICRace 4 MR OPURRTUNIST BEAUTY SECRETSRace 5 PALACE TYCOON HE’S A MORAL THIN DISGUISE MISTA BUSY RATHER SALUBRIOUS Race 1: KEVIN TAYLOR MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP – 900M SHELLEY’S DREAM – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. ALOTAFOX – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Race 2: MARGARET GOLINSKI MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE– 1200M MY COUSIN BABY – Began awkwardly. BEGIN – Reared as the start was affected and lost considerable ground. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages between MY COUSIN BABY which was laying out and HE’S ALL WHITE which was laying in and as a result was unable to be fully tested. Race 3: BOY & JOYCE REED / BURNETT TO THE VALLEY QTIS CLASS 2 PLATE– 1200M GOLDEN STREET – Jockey G. Geran reported that in his opinion the mare felt the firm track today. Trainer representative K. Kropp agreed with the jockey Geran’s comments. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. HEART OF KINGS – Hung out throughout. RUN PAM RUN – Slow to begin. Shortly after the start was tightened for room and lost ground. TALK’EMAROUND – Rider S. Sweeney report that the gelding laid out in the home straight. SIOUXSIE – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied from heels near the 200m wen GOLDEN STREET shifted in. Jockey G. Geran (GOLDEN STREET) was advised to exercise more care. Race 4: JIM LENIHAN & HELEN SMOOTHY MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP– 1400M SHADOW EMPIRE – Lost off side front plate in running. MACMISSILE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner. Apprentice T. Townsend accidently dropped her whip near the 200m. LIFE BE IN IT – Bumped heavily on jumping. THE INTERN – Weakened in the home straight. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Race 5: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER / HUSTON MOTORS KUMBIA CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1400M HIDDEN BUDGET – Slow to begin. CHAMBERLIN – Laid out rounding the home turn. ELJETEM – Made the home turn extremely wide. CAPE WICKHAM – Hung out throughout proving difficult to ride. Trainer S. Rogers was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.
