QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT KUMBIA RACE CLUBTUESDAY 2nd NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – True OFFICIALSChairman: K DalyStewards: D KerwickClub Steward: C WebsterClerk of Scales – N AndressenPhoto Finish – C WeidemannVeterinarian – Dr S KellyStarter – P Moloney General:As Adam Best was not riding at the meeting, riding changes were made as per the Race Day summary sheet. Race 1 – Class B Hdcp 1000 METRES The start of this event was delayed approximately 15 minutes awaiting the arrival of saddle cloths for today’s meeting. STORMWATER – Held up for clear running between the 600 metres and 400 metres before shifting wider rounding the home turn to obtain clear running. EXCEPTIONAL BELLE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. CYCLONE DIVA – Slow to begin. Raced three wide for majority of the event. LAVELLE – Raced greenly and laid in rounding the 800 metre turn. MOUNTEBANK – As had not started for an extended period underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. BRADDOCK DOWN – Slow to begin. MISS CRUISEY – Near the 800 metres raced in restricted room and had to be eased when KITTY KAT’S KITTEN laid out and LAVELLE laid in when racing greenly. Held up for clear running for a short distance at the entrance to the home straight when disappointed for a run between KITTY KAT’S KITTEN and LAVELLE. MIDNIGHT WALTZ – Trainer D Corbett was reprimanded under AR106(2) for presenting the horse to the enclosure in incorrect gear. Fractious in mounting yard and contacted enclosure gate when moving onto the track. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at barriers and was cleared to start. Trainer D Corbett was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s pre-race manners. Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. Race 2 – Maiden Plate 1200 METRES AVOCA – C Frater, rider of second placegetter AVOCA which was beaten a short neck, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) in that she failed to ride her mount out to the end of the race which in the opinion of the Stewards cost AVOCA first place. The licence of C Frater to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 weeks to commence midnight 4th November up to and including midnight 25th November 2021. C Frater was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. BEEF’N’BLACK BEAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ECHELETTE – Awkwardly placed at heels leaving the 800 metres and shifted out. ROCK EASY – P Bradfield, rider of ROCK EASY, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. CRAIGLEA DIVA – As no other rider was available Stewards permitted C Meehan to ride the filly 2kgs over its allotted weight. C Meehan was fined $100 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight Trainer K Johnston was reprimanded under AR106(2) for presenting the horse to the enclosure in incorrect gear. Near the 800 metres was hampered and taken wider on the track when ECHELETTE shifted out after improving onto heels. CRAIGLEA HILARY – Slow to begin. Race 3 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp 1200 METRES VALAR DOHAERIS – Raced three wide throughout the event. Z Sprie, rider of VALAR DOHAERIS, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. BONVILLE – Slow to muster speed in the early stages of the event. MAC’S BOY – Trainer A Park was reprimanded under AR106(2) for presenting the horse to the enclosure in incorrect gear. Race 4 - Benchmark 50 Handicap 1400 METRES GREY FALCON – Rider reported the horse was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. EAST ESPLANADE – Hung out rounding the home turn. AKLAVIK – H Phillips, rider of AKLAVIK, was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. KAKATIYA – Slow to begin. ENCHANTED REIGN – Slow to begin. B Appo, rider of ENCHANTED REIGN, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. SHINING BLUE – Raced three wide throughout the event. Race 5 – Open Hdcp 1400 METRES Correct weight was delayed allowing connections of third placegetter STAZZANA to view the photo finish image for second place. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings. BRYNEICH – Rider C Meehan dropped his whip near the 200 metres. CRAIGLEA ARION – Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. PALATE – K Yoshida, rider of PALATE, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. STAZZANA – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 600 metres and the 400 metres.
