NAYTELLRHI WORLD and ONE UP were both late scratchings at 12:30pm as there were no riders available.
 
SPECK OF GOLD – Jockey D. McMaster was dislodged shortly after the start and was attended to by ambulance officers before being transported to the Longreach Hospital for further treatment.
 
BONTEMPELLI – Slow to begin, then hindered by the rider less horse for some distance.
 
SUNFAST – Jockey Romeo stated the gelding was able to get his tongue over the bit and as a result raced ungenerously.
 
SINAMORE – Apprentice N. Fazackerley was fined the sum of $200 for his excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: THE LONGREACH VETERANS DIGGERS CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres  
 
There was a delay to the start of race four as ambulance officers attended to jockey D. McMaster.
 
J. Rudd was the replacement rider for D. McMaster on HOLEY GADOLEY.
 
HOLEY GADOLEY – Over raced in the early stages.
 
WICKED WOODY – Slow into stride and lay in under pressure down the straight.
 
CONQUISTADOR – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 5: LONGREACH MEMORIAL SERVICES CLUB INC. BM 60 HANDICAP - 1600 metres      
 
CHAMPAGNE TALES – Tardy out of the gates losing considerable ground, brushed an outside runner approaching the 250m going for a run.
 
NORTHERN MAGIC – Contacted at the 250m by an inside runner.
 
CHATARA – Travelled wide for the majority.
