Race 1: BARKERS NEWSAGENCY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres
 
VALENTINE’S DAY – Slow into stride.
 
SIDEREUS SMILE – Contacted at the start.
 
ABI WHALE – Slow to begin.
 
DIFFERENT SHADE – Travelled wide for the majority and hung in down the home straight.
 
Jockey J. Lait returned to the mounting yard extremely distress and was treated by ambulance officers for heat stress. Jockey Lait was assessed after race two and stewards stood him down for the remainder of the day. Jockey Lait was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 2: ANDERSON HARRIS BOOKMAKERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres 
 
B. Richardson was the replacement rider for J. Lait on BLETCHY BOY.
 
ASHIKO – Was a late scratching at 2.42pm when the girth loosened at the barriers and couldn’t be retightened enough. Deductions were announced with correct weight being 36 cents in the dollar value of the win bet and 23 cents in the dollar value of the place bet.
 
BLETCHY BOY – Had its head sideways when the gates opened causing the gelding to jump awkwardly and then was slow into stride.
 
PARANA – Travelled wide for the majority with no cover.
 
 
Race 3: THURECHT BROS SADDLERY CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200 metres  
 
B. Richardson was the replacement rider for J. Lait on BIG DON.
 
BIG DON – Slow into stride.
 
ROCK ON SKYE – Returned to the mounting lame in the nearside hind foot after casting the shoe during the race. A post-race veterinary inspection showed no major injuries.
 
 
Race 4: WATTS CATERING CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres  
 
C. BRYEN was the replacement rider for J. Lait on NICKLEBY.
 
FAVOURITE SISTER – Tightened for room at the start when runners either side shifted ground when jumping.
 
PART THE SEA – Jumped inwards tightening an inside runner.
 
IMPLICATE – Lay in much of the race.
 
BLINKIN HEAVENLY – Jumped outwards tightening an inside runner for room then hung out down the home straight.
 
THE MARSHALL – Travelled wide in the early stages.
 
 
Race 5: BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS OPEN HANDICAP - 1000 metres      
 
D. Rewald was the rider of HOW BIG’S THE HOLE and permitted to ride 1.5kg overweight.
 
GIRLS AWAY – Jumped awkwardly tightening inside runners’ shorty after the start, then travelled wide for much of the event.
 
BUSH CAVIAR – Jumped inwards hampering an inside runner.
 
SUPERCHIC – Tighten for room at the start when outside runners shifted ground, travelled wide in the concluding stages.
