RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT LONGREACH JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 11th MAY 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr. G MeekClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – E WarrenVeterinarian – Dr B NewtonBookmakers Supervisor – StewardsStarter – Mr P Ballard Race 1: Regional Exprees Airlines Maiden 1100 METRES BIG RISING - Began awkwardly. MISS MARLO - Slow to begin. LEO’S EXPRESS - Rider was issued with a reprimand for shifting in at the 800 metres when not clear. KAOS AGENT - Forced inwards at the 800 metres and hampered another runner, raced wide for the remainder. FRIGHTENING DELAGO - Hampered by another runner near the 800 metres. Race 2: Longreach Veterinary Services Plate Benchmark 55 1100 METRES NEVADA MO was declared a late scratching at 8:08am by Stewards acting on advice trainer Todd Austin provided to Racing Australia that NEVADA MO was lame in the near fore. Furthermore, trainer Todd Austin was advised that he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before NEVADA MO races again. HIDDEN CHIEF - Fractious prior to the start and as a result was slow to jump. PETITE ELLE - Jumped out at the start and over raced in the early stages. ROSEXCEL - Raced three wide throughout without cover. CHRISTMAS CHEER - Raced four wide throughout without cover. CALIFORNIA RAIDER - Shifted wider on the track near the 800 metres to avoid heels. Race 3: Battle Of The Bush Longreach Qualifier Open Plate 1100 METRES Stewards permitted jockey Joshua King to ride VALFIERNO .5kg overweight when there was no other suitable rider. ZENDAYE - Proved difficult to load and began awkwardly. FABS COWBOY - Raced three wide throughout without cover and shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. KAKAKENNY - Raced three wide throughout with cover. MAKE AMENDS - Raced wide throughout. Race 4:Longreach Tavern Benchmark 65 Handicap 1300 METRES HIDDEN ROAD - Jumped in the air on jumping striking it’s head on the partition of the barriers resulting in jockey John Rudd falling off shortly after. Trainer Charlie Prow was advised that a warning would be placed on HIDDEN ROAD. EJAY ATOM - Raced wide throughout and finished the race well back. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Raymond Frazer advised stewards he would recommend the owners to retire EJAY ATOM. Race 5: Browne Smash Repairs Benchmark 60 Handicap 1300 METRESTENT LOVER was declared a late scratching at 13:00 due to no rider being available. Jockey John Rudd declared himself free of injury after falling just after the start in Race 4. PART THE SEA - Had to be re saddled at the barriers, proved difficult to load and raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. BARBERANCE - Slow into stride and failed to show any early speed. DO I HAVE TO - Raced three wide throughout without cover.
