RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT LONGREACH JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 27TH JULY 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenClerk of Scales – P. AndersonJudge – D. Walker/J. SmithVeterinarian – C. BaerickeStarter- P. Ballard Race 1: THE BIRDCAGE HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres KAOS AGENT – Slow to begin. THE MARSHALL – Vetted at the barriers, declared a late scratching at 1.47pm on veterinary advice, lame in the near side foreleg. There were no deductions to declare with correct weight. Trainer R. Hermann was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to starting again. WRITER’S BLOCK – Travelled wide with no cover. ZODIAC STAR – Raced wide in the middle and concluding stages. Race 2: RESONATE BROADCASTING CLASS 5 PLATE - 1100 metres TEN GOAL POLO – Hung out for much of the race. ARCHADE – Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority. KURIL FOX -- Bumped shortly after the start and hung out for much of the race. WICKED GRIMSHAW – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting an inside runner. Carted wide on the home turn when and inside runner hung out. Race 3: ELDERS INSURANCE CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres NINO was a late scratching at 11.30pm as there were no riders available. ROCKY GAMBLE – Tightened for room approaching the 80m when an outside runner shifted ground. ANGRY DESERT – Hampered by another runner shifting ground near the 180m and was eased and had to change course. DURANT – Stood flat footed as the gates opened losing ground. LORD RUSSELL – Slow into stride. THUNDER – Jumped away awkwardly and lay in down the home straight, hampering inside runners. Jockey S. Watkin was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation when shifting ground. Race 4: 4LG OPEN HANDICAP - 1300 metres STYLISH LUCK – Slow into stride. INDELO – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages with no cover. Race 5: WEST FM BM 55 HANDICAP - 1400 metres AMADEO – Slow into stride. NICCONI PASQUALE – Over raced in the early stages. FRIGHTENING DELAGO – Lay in down the home straight and was corrected near the 250m to relieve pressure to the inside.
