RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT LONGREACH JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 17THAUGUST, 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. Lewis Race 1: PRO TYRES CLASS 3 PLATE - 1000 metres ANGRY DESERT was a late scratching 12.00pm due to no rider being available. LEO’S EXPRESS – Shifted out down the home straight, jockey L. Dillon believes the gelding was trying to avoid the whip. MAKUBA – Jumped away awkwardly. BOINGO – Slow into stride. IMAGINEALTHEPEOPLE and MRS QUIGLEY – Came together heavily on jumping. Race 2: PRO TYRES MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres THE CAP – The gates came back on the gelding and he knuckled shortly after the start and was slow to muster early speed. WANZANILLA – Hung out rounding the home turn. SHE DEVEL – Had head sideways as the start was effected causing her to be slow away. ZODIAC STAR – Travelled wide for much of the race. Race 3: PRO TYRES BM69 HANDICAP - 1200 metres J. King was the rider of DRAYMAN and stewards acknowledged the reason for the late declaration of the rider by trainer D. Rewald. BARD OF ARMAGH – Fractious in the gates prior to jumping. BENCHI PEGASUS – Lay in over the concluding stages under pressure. Jockey D. Rewald was reminded of his obligation to keep his mount straight. ARCHADE – Contacted at the start, ran around over the concluding stages hampering an outside runner. Jockey L. Dillon was reminded of his obligation to keep his mount straight. SONG ONE – Slow into stride and hampered over the concluding stages when runners either side shifted ground. Apprentice E. Bell and trainer R. Little reviewed the patrol footage prior to correct weight being given and apprentice E. Bell lodged a protest 3rd place SONG ONE against 1st place BENCHI PEGASUS ridden by D. Rewald for alleged interference over the last 30m. After listening to the evidence from all parties and reviewing the patrol footage the protest was dismissed and correct weight was given. DRINKING COCKTAILS – Jumped inwards contacting an inside runner. AMADEO – The gates came back onto the gelding causing him to be slow away then was slow to muster early speed. Race 4: PRO TYRES BM 50 HANDICAP - 1400 metres GREY FALCON – Scratched as there were no riders available. SNIP’N’DRIFT – Knuckled out of the gates nearly dislodging the jockey and causing the gelding to lose ground. DO I HAVE TO – Travelled wide for much of the event with no cover. Race 5: PRO TYRES OPEN PLATE - 1600 metres PRESENT SENSE – Finished tailed off. Jockey D. Rewald stating the gelding travelled well to the 800m and when asked for an effort failed to respond. OUR BEATNIK – Slow into stride. KAKAKENNY – Slow into stride.
