Ballard Race 1: BRIDGESTONE @ PRO TYRES QTIS BM 50 HANDICAP 1000 metres BETTER NOT BLINK – Gate bounced back contacting the left knee of jockey T. Brummell. Slow to begin and contacted the inside running rail leaving the 500m when shying away from runners on its outside. Jockey Brummell was attended to by ambulance officers and clear to fulfill his remaining riding engagements. JAMAICAN DREAM – Jumped away awkwardly with the gates coming back and contacting the gelding. COLOUR CHART – Travelled wide for much of the race and lay in over the concluding stages when placed under pressure. ROCK’N’ROLL BOBBY – Eased off heels shortly after the start. CHEEKY CHOPS – Travelled wide with cover. ALMONDELLA – Slow into stride and travelled wide for much of the race. Race 2: CHAMPION CONTRACTING QTIS BM 50 HANDICAP 1000 metres There was a delay to the start of the race while GOD’S PENNY was recaptured and underwent a veterinary inspection. GOD’S PENNY dislodged rider Ben Moffat on route to the barriers and galloped a distance before being recaptured at the barriers. GOD’S PENNY underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed fit to race. Jockey B. Moffat was uninjured and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. Jumped away awkwardly. RECONIS – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after the jump. Ran about down the home straight when placed under pressure. ALGEROBA – Jumped away awkwardly contacting an outside runner. Lay in down the home straight proving difficult to ride out. WON CAPILANO – Jumped away awkwardly contacting an inside runner and travelled wide in the middle and latter stages. HE’S A WILD ONE – Travelled wide in the early stages. Race 3: MAXXIS @ PRO TYRES MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres BUMPER BAR – Shifted wider at the 500m to gain clear running and lay in over the concluding stages. KENDISSI – Slow to begin and slow into stride. Raced ungenerously throughout finishing a distant last. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R. Hermann was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for poor performance. He stated he would experiment with gear prior to next start. NALSSENDORI – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages. UNLEISHA – Stood flat footed as the gates opened causing the mare to be slow away and was then taken wider on the track to avoid the dusty conditions. Race 4: YOKOHAMA @ PRO TYRES OPEN HANDICAP 1200 metres ZUKAZ – Travelled wide in the early stages. BEST GUESS – Travelled wide for much of the race. CHAPELCO – Travelled wide in the early stages with cover. ENTERPRISE GRAND – Held up from the 200m to the 100m then taken wider to gain clear running. ARCHADE – Slow to begin. FLASH FIBIAN – Slow to begin. Race 5: B. F. GOODRICH @ PRO TYRES BM 60 HANDICAP 1400 metres THE LAUNCHER – Jumped away awkwardly. TOWER ROAD – Bumped with STRAWBERRY BLONDE on jumping. GRANOLA STATE – Contacted shortly after the start. SPALLINA – Travelled wide with no cover. JERRY ZANDA – Bumped with HOT CHOCOLATE on jumping. STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Bumped with TOWER ROAD on jumping. HOT CHOCOLATE – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with JERRY ZANDA. Race 6: PRO TYRES OPEN PLATE 1600 metres HEROISM – Travelled wide for much of the race and hung out rounding the 800m turn.
