Race 1: Brisbane Airport Corporation BM50 Handicap 1600 metres
 
TOWER ROAD –
 
SIZZLESUN – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
SURPRISE SELECTION – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
CANNY SKATE –
 
DO I HAVE TO – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 200m to the inside of SURPRISE SELECTION, which laid in under pressure. Jockey R. Faehr, rider of SURPRISE SELECTION, was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.
 
ITSALLKAY – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
CHEEKY CHOPS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, Trainer R. Little stated that CHEEKY CHOPS had pleased in its work leading into todays event and appreciated the step up in distance.
 
BUMBER BAR – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 2: Figure 8 Fencing BM60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of KALMAR to view the photo finish. After connections were satisfied with the judges numbers, correct weight was declared.
 
ZEBONET – Hung in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
FLASH FIBIAN – Hampered shortly after jumping away. Laid in under pressure in the straight and passing the 200m became awkwardly placed on the heels of ALGEROBA.
 
ONE MORE PINOT – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALGEROBA – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: Ringrose Button Accountants Open 1000 metres
 
FULLY MAXED – Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight by ZILITOR which shifted out to improve.
 
DIVINE RED – When questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding, Jockey O. Galea stated that his mount resented the kick back.
 
ZILITOR – Slow to begin.
 
HAZAR – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
MAGIC TRICK – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: Topx Longreach Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
BLUE TOP – Raced greenly throughout. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
IMPROVING – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages of the event.
 
SET TO FIGHT – Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
THE LANDING – Laid out approaching the 100m and became awkwardly placed on the heels of SET TO FLIGHT.
 
HEAVEN BLESS – Jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
 
Race 5: Outback Insurance Brokers BM 50 Handicap 1200 metres
 
PARA PARK – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
OUR SAY – on straightening passing the 300m was hampered and raced in restricted room for a number of strides between GOD’S PENNY, which shifted out to improve, and COYNES ROAD, which laid in under pressure.
 
ROCK’N’ROLL BOBBY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift out to improve.
 
 
Race 6: Country Cups Challenge Qualifier/ Sprout AG Longreach Cup 1600 metres
 
MR TICKETS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
BURDEN – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift in to improve.
 
HI HARRY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
VAN WINKEL – Overraced in the early and middle stages. When questioned in relation to the improved performance of the gelding, Trainer M. Oates stated that VAN WINKEL had farrier work with the application of pads in front since the geldings disappointing last start and had pleased in its work leading into today’s event.
 
THAT SONG – Accidently dropped whip passing the 100m.
 
BRIS VEGAS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: Geoff Grealy/ Ryan Savage/ Jenny Reed QTIS Class 4 Plate 1400 metres
 
STRIKE POINT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
DARK ARCHER – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
HOGES – Hampered passing the 300m by KEDLESTON, which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
KEDLESTON – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
SALAZAR – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and was slow to begin.
