GENERAL
 
Due to the impeding weather conditions the races were run with a 30-minute gap.
 
D. Graham withdrew from the programme and was replaced as listed below. She was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to starting in a race.
 
Race 1: THURECHT BROS SADDLERY BM 60 HANDICAP - 1400 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider R. Faehr on the fourth placed HEROISM  to view the official photo. After viewing the photo correct weight was declared on the judges’ placings.
 
SURPRISE SELECTION – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
DO I HAVE TO – Travelled wide for much of the race and lay in down the home straight.
 
Race 2: LONGREACH TAVERN QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres 
 
HEAVEN BLESS reared in the barriers prior to jumping, fell in the gates and lashed out striking SPIDEY standing in the barrier next to the mare. Both horses were declared late scratchings at 12:32pm with deductions announced with correct weight and all monies invested on HEAVEN BLESS and SPIDEY refunded. Deductions of 22 cents in the face value of win bets and 10 cents in the face value for place bets were announced. Trainer C. Prow was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate and barrier trial prior to starting again.
 
OUR YOUNG MAN – Travelled wide and ungenerously throughout the event. Rider J. Rudd advising the saddle had slipped and proved difficult to ride out.
 
SET TO FIGHT --  Jumped away awkwardly after leaning on the barrier partition prior to jumping, contacting REALLY REALLY GOOD.
 
REALLY REALLY GOOD – Contacted at the start.
 
SERRATALLI – Slow to being and travelled wide for much of the race.
 
Race 3: ANDERSON & HARRIS BOOKMAKERS BM 65 HANDICAP - 1200 metres  
 
LEO’S EXPRESS – Bounded out of the gates.
 
FLASH FIBIAN – Fractious in the gates prior to jumping.
 
NO REFUND – Jumped away awkwardly contacting the barrier partition with jockey M. Schrapel’s right foot. Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Ran about when placed under pressure down the home straight.
 
BLINKIN LEGEND – Slow to begin.
 
AURIC GOLD – Slow to begin and was taken wider on the track to avoid the kickback.
 
Race 4: BARKERS NEWSAGENCY COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFER OPEN HANDICAP - 1100 metres  
 
STAR OF O’REILLY – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
WALL STREET TYCOON – Travelled wide in the early stages.
 
DOOM – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
DEVINE RED – Jumped away awkwardly, shifted ground momentarily leaving the 400m.
 
HEAVEN’S HIGH – Raced in restricted room near the 700m and objected to the close proximity of other runners losing ground.
 
ALFIARTO – Obliged to ease off heel at the 400m when an outside runner shifted ground.
 
Race 5: DENNIS O’BRIEN MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres      
 
WON CAPILANO – Reared as the gates opened losing ground then travelled wide for the remainder of the event. Trainer H. Forster was advised the mare would need to undergo a barrier trial to stewards satisfaction prior the starting again.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Slow to begin, shifted off heels at the 200m to gain clear running.
