LockieSwab Attendants – Dr B. LockieStarter – Peter Ballard Race 1: BALLARD TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1000 metres MUSTAFA, raced wide throughout. MISS MIRACULOUS, shortly after the start was forced inwards by STRAWBERRY BLONDE, rider lost their whip at the 300 metres. LOVE OVER GOLD, hung out from the 800 metres to near the 450 metres. STRAWBERRY BLONDE, began awkwardly and shortly after the start when being urged along forced MISS MIRACULOUS inwards. GOLD VEE EYE PEA, failed to show any early speed. Race 2: SIMSTOCK RURAL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres FREDDIE EDDIE, began awkwardly. ASBURY PARK, rider reported the saddled slipped on leaving the barriers and it placed him at a disadvantage throughout the race. Raced wide throughout. FLASH FIBIAN, raced wide throughout. LOVE SICK, stood flat footed as the gates opened and refused to jump with the rest of the field despite the urgings of the rider. Trainer Patrick O’Toole was advised LOVE SICK must pass a satisfactory barrier jump out before racing again. Race 3: RIPPA ENTERPRISE QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres RAPIDS, threw its head up in the air as the gates opened, leaving the barriers jumped out and bumped HOT CHOCOLATE. Approaching the 150 metres when coming off heels, shifted out and bumped WIKI. WIKI, was bumped by RAPIDS leaving the 150 metres. SHENANIGAN CITY, raced wide throughout and shifted in under pressure in the home straight. MAXAWAY (NZ), shortly after the start was tightened for room between SHENANIGAN CITY and SIZZLING RIVER and as a result was slow into stride. SIZZLING RIVER, began awkwardly jumping in at the start and bumping heavily with MAXAWAY, then shifted out abruptly and raced wide for the majority. HOT CHOCOLATE, was bumped by RAPIDS at the start and raced wide for the majority. Race 4: FLOORED BY RAMSAY OPEN Handicap 1300 metres MUSIC AWARD, began awkwardly and as a result was extremely slow into stride. ANCIENT ECHOES, had to be restrained approaching the 850 metres after running up onto the heels of NEW YORK WORLD.Apprentice jockey Tyler Leslight pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 4 more than permitted. Jockey Leslight was issued with a $200.00 fine. ZILITOR, raced very wide throughout. TOWER ROAD (NZ), raced wide from the 500 metres. KALMAR, began awkwardly and over raced in the early stages when being restrained by the rider. Race 5: CHAMPION CONTRACTING RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1400 metres VIKING RAID, bumped with TYPHOON TALAYAH at the start. MORICONI, over raced in the early stages when being restrained by the rider. NO STRINGS, raced wide throughout. BITTERSWEET PLUCK, very slow to begin. PORTABELLE, very fractious in the barriers prior to the start, raced wide from the 500 metres. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no abnormalities were found. TYPHOON TALAYAH, bumped with VIKING RAID at the start.
