GENERAL
Due to Jockey Jason Hoopert being injured and unavailable to take his rides, changes were permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Trainer M Oates UZERLI was fined $1000 under AR106(1) for presenting the mare into the saddling paddock for race four without the lead bag.

Apprentices Sophie Wilcock and Amy Graham each pleaded guilty to a charge under AR218(4) for being in possession of their mobile phones in the jockeys room during the course of the meeting. Fines of $200 and $300 respectively were issued. When assessing penalty stewards considered the pleas of guilt, clear records and usual penalties imposed. In electing to increase the penalty for Ms Graham, stewards were mindful that she had failed to hand her mobile phone in despite being reminded prior to the commencement of the meeting. An inspection of both phones failed to reveal any activity that caused stewards concern.
Apprentices Sophie Wilcock and Amy Graham each pleaded guilty to a charge under AR229(1)(h) for providing false and misleading evidence, in that when questioned regarding the location of their mobile phones they both advised that the phones were in their vehicles when they were subsequently located in the jockeys room. Stewards imposed a fine of $600 against each apprentice and suspended $300 off the fine for a period of two years on the condition they do not offend under the same rule within that period. When assessing penalty, stewards took into account the pleas of guilt, the remorse displayed, each riders clear record and penalties issued under similar circumstances.

Starter P Ballard was spoken to in relation to the field being fully loaded in the barriers for race 7 two minutes prior to official start time. Stewards were able to communicate to the starter that he had erred in his loading time and that the field was to be held until official start time. This information was relayed to all riders. Mr Ballard was advised that he must be cognisant of all processes for loading the field inclusive of time frames and that a repetition of this occurrence could not be accepted.
