Ballard Race 1: LONGREACH REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING CLASS B HANDICAP 1000 METRES COUNTRY ROADS – hung out in the early and middle stages of the race and shifted out very wide coming around the home turn. DUTTON RANCH – stood flat footed at the start and as a result was extremely slow into stride and failed to show any speed throughout the race. YOU BETTER YOU BET – began awkwardly and raced wide throughout and approaching the 100 metres shifted out under pressure inconveniencing HOT CHOCOLATE. Jockey Tim Brummell pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR131(a) for careless riding, shifting ground when not clear to do so. Jockey Brummell was issued with a reprimand. TAMSIN – Jockey John Rudd was reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. LUNA GLIDE – raced greenly in the home straight. HOT CHOCOLATE – was inconvenienced near the 100 metres when YOU BETTER YOU BET shifted out under riding. Jockey Brooke Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 3 more than permitted. Jockey Richardson was fined the sum of $300.00. Race 2:O’BIENS GARAGE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres BENTER – jumped out at the start. HOT ROD JACK – began awkwardly. SUMMER SIZZLING – Jockey John Rudd replaced Dakota Graham as the rider of SUMMER SIZZLING when jockey Graham was to be a 1 kilogram overweight. Stewards accepted the explanation of jockey Graham for being overweight. Jumped out at the start as a result was slow to into stride and raced wide throughout. GOODY GOODY – slow to begin and raced wide throughout. PURPLE SONG – Jockey Brooke Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 1 more than permitted. Jockey Richardson was issued with a reprimand. VALIANT JOAN – raced wide in the early stages and rider T Brummell reported VALIANT JOAN raced green throughout and failed to handle the dirt track for the first time. Race 3:TJF MILK BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 metres AURON – raced wide throughout. HEZAGEM – raced wide for the majority and laid in under pressure down the home straight. Near the 100 metres was laying in resulting in MUSTAFA having to steady for a stride. MUSTAFA – leaving the 100 metres was tightened momentarily when SHARPAY RULER shifted out for a stride and HEZAGEM laid in under pressure. FREDDIE EDDIE – approaching the 100 metres was bumped by SHARPAY RULER. SHARPAY RULER – Stewards permitted jockey Dakota Graham to ride 1kg overweight due to no other rider being available. Bumped with REALLY REALLY GOOD shortly after the start. Approaching the 100 meters bumped FREDDIE EDDIE and near the 100 metres shifted out for a stride when obtaining a clear run between FREDDIE EDDIE and MUSTAFA resulting in MUSTAFA being tightened for room. REALLY REALLY GOOD – bumped with SHARPAY RULER shortly after the start. PRIZED ARTIST – raced wide throughout. THERAPY – was declared a late scratching at 8:00am due to no rider being available. Race 4:GORDON POPEYE SAUNDERS MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 metres IN AGREEMENT – began awkwardly jumping out at the start and raced wide throughout. SKELLIG ISLAND – began awkwardly and over raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600metres shifted out wider to obtain clear running. OUR YOUNG MAN – failed to show any speed throughout the race. Race 5:COL ANDERSON & LAURIE EISENTRAGER MEMORIAL OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE (HEAT) OPEN HANDICAP 1600 metres DARK ARCHER – raced wide throughout. GALAPAGOS – slow to begin. REVENIRE – slow to begin. THE LANDING – raced wide throughout. Jockey Tim Brummell was reminded of obligation regarding whip use on a runner when out of contention. Race 6:BIRDCAGE SPRINT BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000 metres HIGHGROUND – jumped out at the start bumping ALGEROBA and laid out badly rounding the home turn. SHIGERU MAHOGANY – raced wide throughout. NEW YORK WORLD – raced wide for the majority. FLASH FIBIAN – was fractious prior to the start and began awkwardly. ALGEROBA – At the start was tightened between HIGHGROUND and NEW YORK WORLD resulting in being slow into stride.
