Race 1:ANDERSON HARRIS BOOKMAKERS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
COLONEL VON TRAPP – Raced wide with cover.
 
IMPENDING RAIN – Raced wide throughout.
 
BURDEKIN BOY – Slow to begin.
 
WORTHY'S GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2:4LG+WEST FM BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100M
 
The start of the race was delayed when DIWALI LIGHTS refused to load. DIWALI LIGHTS was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 1:25pm. Stewards ordered all monies invested on DIWALI LIGHTS to be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st – BURDEKIN 2c Win & 3c Place
2nd – DIZZY DIVINE 3c Place
3rd – LIEUTENANT 3c Place
 
 
Trainer, K McGovern was advised that DIWALI LIGHTS will need to pass two consecutive trials to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. In issuing this penalty stewards took into consideration the gelding’s poor loading record.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide throughout.
 
BURDEKIN - Approaching the 100m momentarily shifted in under pressure and was quickly corrected by its rider.
 
SHARPAY RULER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHADOWAY DRIVE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
HEZAGEM – Slow to begin. Passing the 500m eased off heels when attempting a narrow run between BURDEKIN and SHARPAY RULER. Trainer, T Schofield was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race behavior on route to barriers.

 
 
 
 
Race 3: RLR PHOTOGRAPHY BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200M
 
LASTING PROMISE – Raced wide with cover.
 
OAKLEIGH – Raced wide throughout.
 
DEN END – Slow to begin.. Raced wide throughout.
 
MORGAN'S SMILE – Failed to muster early speed. Raced wide throughout. When questioned, jockey J Missen stated the gelding started well but didn’t seem to respond to his riding and may of resented to kick back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abvious abnormalities.
 
Race 4:HARRIS EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1300M
 
FIELD OF ROSES – Slow into stride.
 
MONEY MUNCHER – Raced wide throughout.
 
WORLD CHARMER (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. When question, apprentice jockey S Zoljan could give no explanation to the mare’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer P O’Toole advised it was his intentions to likely spell the mare.
 
CLOGS – Raced wide with cover.
 
VILA TINTO – Approaching the 200m was disappointed for a run and shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
WINTILLY – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5:COOLA CARPET & FURNITURE CLASS B HANDICAP 1400M
 
DISPUTE – Laid in under pressure down the home straight.
 
BEN STARS – Fractious prior to start, as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
HE'LL HAVACHAT – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Slow to begin.
 
HOT ROD JACK – Commenced to over-race approaching the 1000m, as a consequence was restrained off heels passing the 800m.
 
SNOWY ON THE TRAMS – Jumped awkwardly, as a result was slow to begin. When questioned regarding the gelding’s poor performance apprentice K Lenton stated that the gelding resented the kickback. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
 
Race 6: CLEAR MOUNTAIN FAIRVIEW OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE - HEAT - OPEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
NO INUENDO – Raced wide throughout.
 
MOTION LEGEND – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
THINK HIGH – Slow to begin.
 
FELONIOUS – When questioned regarding the gelding’s disappointing performance jockey T Brummel believed the horse may have choked down during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer, H Forster advised he would look to add a tongue to the gelding’s racing gear.
 
PROUD WITH PRIDE – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 7:BRUCE AIR & ELECTRICAL QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1600M
 
FANTWA – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
ZELSON – Raced wide throughout.
 
IMPACTFUL – Jumped awkwardly, as a result was slow to begin.
 
FLYING ARION – Slow to begin and failed to muster early speed.
