GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1: R Payne +.50kg
Race 2: S McGovern +1kg
Race 3: Paul Hamblin +3.5kg (no other riders available)
Race 5: S McGovern +.50kg
 
Race 1: WQLX / GDL QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1000m
 
HARBOUR GOLD – Hampered at start when THE RATTLESNAKE shifted in on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
THE RATTLESNAKE – Shifted in on jumping hampering runners to its inside. Raced wide throughout.  Trainer D Rewald was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
SPILL THE DIAMONDS – Raced wide throughout.
 
EVIL WOMAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
SHE'SGOTACCESS – On returning to scale, rider R Payne was treated by QAS paramedics for dehydration and taken to Longreach Hospital for further treatment. R Payne was stood down for the remainder of the day. R Payne was advised a medical clearance was required prior to racing again.  
 
Race 2: SIMSTOCK RURAL / BALLARD LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT OPEN HANDICAP 1100m
 
Race 2 was delayed due to a delay in a replacement ambulance arriving on course.
 
KALASHNIKOV – Laid in under pressure between the 200m to 100m.
 
HARALBEN – When questioned jockey P Hamblin stated it was his intention to lead however the gelding did not respond to his hard riding and failed to show early speed. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of a slow post-race recovery.
 
THE HANGER CAT – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure from the 300m to 100m.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide throughout.
 
SCORCHED LAND – Approaching the 150m was restrained and shifted out across heels to obtain clear room. At a subsequent inquiry, after viewing the available replays and hearing evidence from App K Lenton (THE HANGER CAT) represented by E Bell, J Missen (KALASHNIKOV) and S McGovern (SCORCHED LAND) stewards found that app K Lenton allowed her mount to lay in between the 300m to 150m placing pressure to the outside of KALASHNIKOV resulting in KALASHNIKOV shifting in causing SCORCHED LAND to be restrained. Apprentice K Lenton was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to continue to lay in without stopping and correcting. J Missen was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for not making sufficient effort to correct his mount sooner.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Failed to muster early speed. Raced wide throughout.
 
DARK ARCHER – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 3: ARDROSSAN ANGUS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
 
DEN END – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
DREYFUS – Slow to begin.
 
VILA TINTO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ASHIKO BAY – Jumped awkwardly, as a result was slow to begin.
 
TREBLA – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4: GEOFF GREALY / RYAN SAVAGE / JENNY REED MEMORIAL CLASS 6 1300m
FELONIOUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
FIELD OF ROSES – Jumped away well however failed to muster early speed and tailed the field by a considerable margin.
 
SHAGGY ROGERS - Jumped awkwardly, as a result was slow into stride.
 
WITHOUT SHAME – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.
 
ISHOTTHEDEPUTY - Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: TYNNE MCCARTNEY LAWYERS / RAMSAY PASTORAL RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 1400m
 
DISRUPT – Hampered on jumping when BEN STARS shifted out.
 
SHARPAY RULER – Slow to begin.
 
BEN STARS – jumped awkwardly, shifting out hampering DISRUPT.
 
MACFARLANE (GB) – Shifted wide approaching the 600m.
 
Race 6: HOMESTEAD AGRIBUSINESS LONGREACH CUP / COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1600m
 
 
DEEP BREATH – Slow to muster early speed. Raced wide throughout.
 
BURDEKIN – Held up for clear running approaching the 200m.
 
WARRAH FLASH – Raced wide throughout.
