QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT McKINLAY RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 22nd JUNE, 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK – DIRT RAIL – IN TRUE POSITION OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – R SmithStewards – T HudsonClerk of Scales – StewardsJudges – D Chaplain & D Moore Veterinarian – T SmithSwab attendants – Veterinarian Bookmakers Supervisor – Stewards Starter – D Jones Race 1: CURLY CATTLE TRANSPORT Maiden Plate 800m DAWN ASSAULT - Slow to begin. BOUNDARY RIDER - Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. ADOREE – Raced wide in the early stages. PRINCIPLE - Raced wide in the early stages. STRYKINGLY SO - Taken wide soon after the start. GOLDEN MOUNT – Inclined to lay out shortly after the start despite the efforts of the rider. BOLLENTE – Rider L Dillon advised gelding resented the kickback in running. L Dillon was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) regarding use of the whip, (7 times), prior to the 100m. Race 2: BRODIE AGENCIES Benchmark 60 Handicap 1400m CRYSTAL BEAR – Underwent pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. LUVYA BEAK – Knuckled on jumping losing ground. Unable to be ridden positively as per instructions due to resenting the kickback in the early and middle stages. SCOTTABEE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. ALBERT THE ROCKET – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout. GOING GREY – Bumped with another runner on jumping. TWO OF A KIND – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Post-race was found to have bled from both nostrils 1st time. Trainer J Bawden was advised under the provisions of AR79(4((b) the gelding would incur the mandatory 3 months ban and would be required to satisfactorily gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward. ARGENTO PERLO – Rider L Dillon was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) regarding use of the whip, (8 times), prior to the 100m. Race 3: FMR QTIS Class 3 Plate 1200m IN TWO MINDS- Bumped heavily with another runner after jumping awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. RECONIS – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was unable to muster pace in the early stages. GOLDEN LIGHT – Approaching the 1000m turn had to be steadied off heels of another runner which was inclined to lay out. BRAVE JEWEL – Approaching the 1000m was inclined to lay out. ALIK – Taken wider approaching the 1000m turn. Race 4: BRODIE HARDWARE Class B Handicap (1) 1000m NO CRYSTAL BALL - Broke through the barriers after being loaded and was quickly restrained. Was subsequently examined by the Veterinarian and cleared to start. AYLA’S ANGEL – Began awkwardly. VIOLET JANE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. ANGRY DESERT - Raced wide throughout. RED FACETS – Approaching the 900m bumped with another runner. Near the 800m had to be eased when racing in restricted room. BUDMEISTER – Bumped by another runner near the 900m. GREY FACTOR – Commenced to lose ground soon after jumping and took no competitive part in the race. Rider advised the filly resented the kickback in running. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. HUNTING – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight. Trainer advised a warning is being placed on the mare’s racing manners. FLOSSY – A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer advised a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to next race start. Race 5: NOSILLA BRAHMANS Class B Handicap (2) 1000m FESTIVE REWARD – On presentation to the enclosure was found to be carrying the incorrect saddlecloth number. Both Jockey K Ballard and Trainer T Parry were reprimanded under the provisions of AR207)(1). SALTWATER SLEDGE – Slowly away after becoming fractious in barrier. Was tightened between runners soon after the start and subsequently unable to obtain a forward position in the early stages when racing ungenerously due to resenting the kickback in running. HOLOGRAM – Jumped awkwardly and raced wide in the early and middle stages. DUTCH TWIST – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight. Race 6: SOUTH 32 MCKINLAY CUP OPEN Handicap 1800m BARBERANCE – Slowly away. FIRE RANGER – Slowly away. Hampered shortly after the start. OUR BEATNIK (NK) – Shifted out on jumping hampering another runner. MISHANI CENTURION – Over-raced in the early stages. RECALCULATE - Rider L. Dillon was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) regarding use of the whip, (9 strikes) prior to the 100m. Race 7: WARN FENCING OPEN Handicap 1000m Trainer’s explanation regarding late rider engagement for STONE PHILOSPHER was accepted by Stewards SPARKLING VIXEN – Slowly away. CHASING THE DRAGON – Slowly away. Rider reported, in his opinion, the gelding had never been comfortable in today’s track conditions. DAMGOODCHOICE – Rider reported, in his opinion, the gelding had never been comfortable in today’s track conditions. On returning to scale App. Ms. E Bell who rode 2nd placed CLATEAU requested to view the photo finish.
