Race 1: #ONEISS Class B Handicap 1550 metres
 
BON RUBY – Improved wide during the middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: THE BLACK NUGGET BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
SLAYDEM – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider M Haley advised it felt flat throughout and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities
 
RED SATIN – Raced wide over the early stages. Gave ground rapidly during the running with a post-race veterinary examination confirming the mare was a bilateral bleeder. As this was the second occasion RED SATIN had bled the connections were advised she is no longer eligible to race pursuant to AR79(6).
 
FROZE – Raced wide with cover early and middle stages. Rider D Graham was suspended for 21 days from midnight 21st of June 2021 to midnight 12th of July 2021 for using her whip on seven occasions two more than permitted prior to the 100m pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii).  When considering penalty Stewards took into account this was Ms Grahams 15th breach of the rule since August 2020.  
 
JOJO GO – Jumped away awkwardly with rider C Collis becoming unbalanced.
 
Rider B Richardson was treated by Ambulance staff following this race after she was feeling unwell and she was cleared to continue her remaining engagements.
 
 
Race 3: BLACKWATER QUARRIES Class B Handicap 1170 metres
 
BARBICAN – Gelded prior to today’s event however was shown in some publications as an entire. This information was disseminated to on course patrons.  
 
STRUMAN – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result.
 
QUICK VERSE – Tailed off throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities with the connections advised the mare was stood down for a satisfactory trial.
 
BERNIE BEEL – M Haley was reprimanded for accepting a ride in which he was in excess of .5kg over the carded weight pursuant to AR190(3).
 
 
Race 4: SMART STAY QTIS Maiden Plate 1170 metres
 
VOK’S THE ONE – Rider D Simmons reported the gelding failed to respond to his urgings and felt lethargic throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer L Clem advised he intends to send VOK’S THE ONE for a brief let up prior to resuming racing.
 
CAPPY ROCKET – Slow to begin and failed to maintain contact with the field throughout. Stable representative J Doolan was advised the gelding was stood down to complete a satisfactory trial.
 
LUCY VAN PELT – Raced wide early and middle stages.
 
MISHANI MORTAL – Raced wide early stages.
 
 
Race 5: TREASURE PARK FAMILY FUN DAY RACES QTIS Maiden Plate 1170 metres
 
MISHANI PATRIOT – Rider D Simmons was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions one more occasion than permitted prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
MILKY ROCKET – Raced wide early stages.
 
MARINASARA – Failed to maintain contact with the field over the early and middle stages despite the urgings of rider M Haley. Raced wide rounding the bend. When questioned regarding the performance rider M Haley advised after jumping with the field MARINASARA resented the kick back and failed to respond until it was taken wider on the track clear of other runners. When shifted wider he advised the filly responded in a positive manner and ran on well in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had a slow recover rate.
 
BEFORE SUNRISE – Impeded at the start.
 
IMPULSIVE FLIGHT – Raced greenly through the early stages shifting ground abruptly.
 
 
Race 6: QUARRICO OPEN Plate 1170metres
 
AMERICAN GENIUS – Lay on the starting gate prior to jumping and was slow to begin. Over raced through the early and middle stages placing rider D Graham in difficulty.
 
FAB’S COWBOY – Bounded on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid inwards in the home straight under pressure.
 
LE DUDE (NZ) – Due to racing within the previous seven days was subject of a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to race. Rider C Collis advised the Stewards LE DUDE felt lethargic throughout. Trainer G Bell advised she felt LE DUDE didn’t handle the track and the short back up may have also had a bearing. She further advised she would be giving the gelding a short let up prior to resuming racing.
