Race 1: WESTERN QUEENSLAND EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000 metres
 
KING CONI – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
FOR LOVE – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside and as a result lost ground.
 
CATHVALANNA – Proved difficult to load. Trainer P. Webster was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare. Began awkwardly. Approaching the 900m made contact with MORICONI. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
MORICONI – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Bumped by another runner to the outside approaching the 900m and failed to respond when placed under hard riding thereafter. Post-race Veterinary examination failed to identify any issues with the mare.
 
HARAMAIN – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
 
Race 2 SAMIOS TRADING POST MAIDEN PLATE 1000 metres
 
 
ZUMA – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
SUNNYSIDE COTTAGE – Jumped awkwardly. Upon returning to scales Apprentice C. Miles advised that mare was inclined to hang out throughout and as a result made contact with the outside rail approaching the 800m. She further added that the runner appeared to have its tongue over the bit when returning to the mounting yard which in her opinion may have contributed to the horses performance.
 
 
 
PACKAGE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly for the majority. Upon returning to scale, Jockey D. Boutet advised that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle todays track conditions.
 
 
Race 3: NUTRI-LICK QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400 metre
 
PALATE – Began awkwardly.
 
GOLDEN TREASURE – After being caught wide in the early stages, settled in a three wide position leaving the 1300m and as a result raced wide without cover for the remainder.
 
JUST FAVULOUS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
INSIDE INFORMATION – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Apprentice T. Wheeler advised that he had difficulty steering the gelding in running.
 
STAZZANA – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1200m.
 
MINTY BOY – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside. Tailed off from the 1300m and failed to take any further part in the race. Upon returning to scale Jockey D. Boutet advised that the runner failed to travel the early speed and failed to respond when placed under hard riding from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer B. Waldron advised that the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell.
 
Race 4: FRASER VALUERS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1200 metres
 
AURIC GOLD – Slow to begin.
 
CHESTER’S ANGEL – Inclined to hang out throughout.
 
ALL TOO SWEET – Tailed off from 600m taking no further competitive part in the event. Apprentice C. Miles advised that at a point approaching the 600m, when another runner improved to her outside, the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure and as a result weakened to the tail of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer R. Frazer advised that the gelding would now be sent for an immediate spell.  
 
MASSIE WHISPER – Tightened for room at the start.
 
SKALD – Began awkwardly, veered towards the outside running rail approaching the 1000m despite the rider’s best efforts. Ran wide for the majority.
 
Race 5: BOORINGA CUP OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
BILLY THE KID – Raced greenly and hung in for a majority of the race.
 
 
GUMSHOE – Slow to begin. Slow into stride. Tailed off for the majority of the race. Apprentice T. Townsend the gelding failed to respond when paced under pressure throughout and as a result proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B. Waldron advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
 
No further race incidents.
