GENERAL
 
Due to transport difficulties W. D’Avila was unable to fulfil his engagements and was replaced as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Southern Sheet & Coil BMW65 H'cap - 2000 
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of the 4th placegetter, Pulsar, to view the photo-finish image for 3rd, and after doing so were satisfied with the Judge’s decision and therefore declared correct weight on the Judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
KHADIJA  - Bumped by another runner passing the 300m.
 
GAINSFORD - Bumped by another runner passing the 300m.
 
EXTRA COVER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
After the conclusion of Race 1 stewards ordered that VEGAS FLYER be held on course for 2 hours to obtain further urine and blood samples.
Race 2:  Urban Kitchen QTIS 2yo H'cap - 1300m 
 
ELITE JET – Slow to begin and was bumped  on jumping by another runner.
 
SPECIAL STYLE – Slow to begin and was bumped on jumping by another runner.
 
ROCKSTAR ROCKET – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA – Shortly after the start got its head up and raced ungenerously and continued to do so until passing the 700m. Rounding the home turn was slightly hampered between runners when racing in restricted room.
 
ZOFFANY ROCKET -  Was shifted 3 wide by SPECIAL STYLE  passing the 800m.
 
Race 3: Gingers Coldroom Hire Class 1 H'cap – 1300m 
 
GENERAL BEERS – Slow to begin.
 
JERVOIS NIGHT – Slow into stride.  When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, jockey  S. Galloway reported  that it only began fairly and travelled kindly mid-race but when asked for an effort it failed to respond over the concluding stages and, in his opinion, it may not have backed up from its run last week.
 
SENORITA ROSITA – Approaching the 400m had to be steadied when tightened by AMULETO, which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
AMULETO – Raced wide throughout.
 
TUXEDO BOY – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: MM Electrical Class 6 Plate – 1560m 
 
YOU CAN’T FIND ME – Shortly after the start ducked in sharply, unbalancing  rider
S. Galloway, who was eventually dislodged. Jockey Galloway was subsequently examined by QAS officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
RISE TO FAME – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
GOT YOU DOUBLE – Had to be steadied passing the 400m when inconvenienced by the riderless YOU CAN’T FIND ME.
 
CONCA DEL SOGNO – Inconvenienced by the riderless YOU CAN’T FIND ME passing the 900m and made contact with the running rail.  A post race veterinary examination of CONCA DEL SOGNO revealed that it had quartered its off hind heel and lost its off hind plate in running.
 
STRONG WILL – Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: Mackay Casino Nights BMK BM65 H'cap – 1100m 
 
LUCKY CLOVER – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards  at 10.45 am.  Trainer R. Vale was fined $100 under AR114 for failing to scratch the horse by the prescribed time.
 
JEWELLERY THIEF – The start was delayed when the horse  had to be resaddled. Began awkwardly and was then restrained to a rearward position. Over the concluding stages improved onto heels and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
YOU DID WHAT – Hampered on jumping away  and then raced wide in the middle stages.
 
HAYYLER’S ILLUSION – Slow to begin and then raced 3 wide joint leader without cover for the remainder of the race.  When questioned, jockey D. Simmons stated that after being fairly away he had to work hard to obtain the lead and the filly tired over the concluding stages. He further added that in light of today’s performance the filly may have come to the end of its campaign.
 
STELLAR KNIGHT – Tightened for room approaching the 800m between HAYYLER’S ILLUSION, which shifted out slightly, and JUST ONE WISH, which was in a 4-wide position, shifted in and bumped STELLAR KNIGHT.
 
CAPTAIN’S PICK  – Hampered passing the 800m when racing in restricted room between HAYYLER’S ILLUSION and JUST ONE WISH, both of which shifted ground slightly.
 
CLOSE TO THE BEACHES – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 6:  George Moore “Cotton Fingers” Sprint Weight For Age – 1050m 
 
ROYAL PHYSICIAN – Slow to begin, and was held up for clear running from a point passing the 300m until the 150m.
 
BOMBER MISS – Held up passing the 300m and was obliged to alter course on a number of occasions before eventually finding clear running approaching the 100m.
 
MAHRAJAAN – Shifted out and bumped another runner approaching the 400m.
 
ASSIMILATOR – Race 3 wide throughout, and approaching the 400m was bumped by another runner.
 
ROCKY KING – Raced 4 wide throughout.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 7:  2017 Woodman Group Mackay Newmarket – 1300m
 
MOTORISED -   Approaching the 100m was held up when improving onto heels and obliged to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.
 
GRAND EMPEROR – Hampered shortly after the start and shifted in, tightening AVONACO.  Then raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
HORACIO – Stewards gave consideration  to trainer M. Geaney’s  request to allow Jockey L. Attard  to ride the horse 2 kilograms over its allocated weight. As there was no other rider available stewards permitted L. Attard to take the mount on the gelding.  This notification was relayed to all media outlets.
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of the 2nd placegetter, COURT CLOWN, to view the photo-finish image for 1st, and after doing so they were satisfied with the Judge’s numbers. 
 
Correct weight was further delayed to allow the connections of the 3rd placegetter, HEARTBREAK HARRY, to view the patrol film with an option of lodging an objection against COURT CLOWN being declared the 2nd placegetter.   After doing so they were satisfied and declined to proceed, and subsequently correct weight was declared on the Judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
ACCIDENTAL – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA WANDOO – Slow to begin and then raced 3 wide throughout, and passing the 200m was bumped by another runner and forced wider on the track.
 
EMBRACE THE PAIN – Shifted in slightly shortly after the start, and passing the 100m had to be steadied off the heels of AVONACO, which shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
AVONACO – Hampered shortly after the start when racing in restricted room between runners and had to be steadied off heels. Over the concluding stages shifted out to obtain clear running .
 
GRAND EMPEROR – Hampered shortly after the start and shifted in, tightening AVONACO.  Then raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SPORTING PAGE – Commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off heels approaching the 1000m.
 
HEARTBREAK HARRY – Raced in restricted room passing the 200m when attempting a narrow run to the inside of COURT CLOWN and bumped with COURT CLOWN on a number of occasions.
 
COURT CLOWN – Approaching the 100m was bumped by HEARTBREAK HARRY.
