General

As N. Summers  was  unable to attend today’s race meeting due to extreme bushfire conditions, replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: Seven Mackay Maiden H’cap – 1300m

ART NOUVEAU - As Jockey D. Evans was a late arrival on course due to personal reasons he was replaced by C McIvor as the rider of the gelding.

THE DECKERAIDER – Crowded between runners soon after jumping.

TWISTED SUCCESS – Crowded between runners soon after the start.

SALLY’S SPIRIT – Crowded between runners soon after the start.

CRISTOVAO – Raced ungenerously for some distance passing the 1000m. Raced wide for the majority.

TWISTED SUCCESS – Raced greenly throughout.  A warning was issued to the connections regarding its racing manners.

DRUMEOUS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

JUST UNREEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

POPIGAI – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey N. Nelson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 1000m she permitted her mount, SALLY’S SPIRIT, to shift out on to the running of THE DECKERAIDER when insufficiently clear to do so, resulting in that runner being checked and losing ground. In considering this matter, stewards were mindful that there was a clear option for Miss Nelson to shift inwards at that point without detriment to any other runner. Stewards also took into account the racing manners of TWISTED SUCCESS, which was racing forward of the other 2 runners at this point, but considered that this had no bearing on this particular incident. Jockey N. Nelson’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 1 December, and to expire at midnight, 9 December.  In assessing penalty, stewards took into account Miss Nelson’s very good record in relation to this rule and her plea of guilty.

Race 2: McDonald Murphy Machinery BM60 H’cap – 1560m

AUSSIE TYCOON – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was obliged to shift around heels on the home turn to obtain clear running on straightening.

MUSTARRID – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

BAWAARDI ROCKET – Had to be restrained off heels near the 700m.

Race 3: Aristocrat H’cap – 1300m

SHORELINE – Began awkwardly.

PRINCELY – Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

FRIENDLY DRAGON –  When questioned into the disappointing performance of the gelding, jockey  J. Stanley advised that, in his opinion, the horse had raced flat today, and  that the heavy impost and  firm track conditions also had a  bearing  on the performance. Trainer J. McConachy advised that, in his opinion, the horse had come to the end of its preparation and would be turned out for an immediate spell.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4: Hit FM Mackay BM70 H’cap – 1050m

ROSINCA – Began awkwardly.

STRONG WILL – Began awkwardly.

CYCLONE TOPGIRL – Shifted out after beginning awkwardly, hampering another runner.

FIDEREUS – Hampered by another runner which shifted out soon after jumping.

CLOSE THE BEACHES – Shifted in on jumping.

ROYAL RECEIVER – Slowly away after knuckling badly on jumping.

JAYAQUA – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

BLOSSOM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SHADEA LADY – Momentarily held up on straightening.

Race 6: Smartstate Vehicle Rentals QTIS 3yo Class 1 H’cap

HIDDEN WARRANT – Late withdrawal by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 5.53pm after proving difficult to load and becoming cast in the barrier. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed on the event be subject to the following deductions

1st placegetter – 15 cents win
                          21 cents place
2nd placegetter -  21 cents place
3rd placegetter -   21 cents place

Trainer Mr L. Wright was advised HIDDEN WARRANT would be required to obtain one (1) further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

GRACIE BELLE – Very slowly away after rearing as the barriers opened and striking its head on the crossbar. Raced greenly throughout. Hung in down the running. Trainer Mr P. Fleming was advised the filly would be required to obtain one (1) further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

SHENRON – Shifted out on jumping.

CHEEKY MILA – Shifted in on jumping. Near the 800m shifted in hampering another runner. Jockey N. Seymour was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

ZLOTO – Tightened between runners on jumping.

PURPLE GREY – Tightened between runners on jumping. Overraced in the middles stages. Raced wide for the majority.
