On return to scale after viewing the patrol footage a protest was lodged by  D. Simmons, rider of the 3rd placegetter, NOBODY BETTER, against ASTRAL KNIGHT being declared the winner, alleging interference rounding the home turn and again near the 250m. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video footage, stewards found that rounding the home turn, ASTRAL KNIGHT did make minimal contact with NOBODY BETTER and again made contact near the 250m. Stewards were not of the view that the interference suffered by NOBODY BETTER was sufficient to uphold the objection bearing in mind the margin of almost three quarters of a length between the 3rd placegetter and the winner, and therefore dismissed the objection and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.
