Race 1 – Caneland Central Mackay Turf Club QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1050
CRAIGLEA ARION – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up for clear running entering the home straight.
LUCKY BEE – Slow to begin. Laid in on straightening, becoming awkward on the heels of another runner. Continued to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight, proving difficult to ride out. Raced wide in the early stages.
MADAM LOVE – Shifted out on jumping away, bumping another runner.
THINK I CAN CAREEN – Began awkwardly and was then bumped shortly after the start when racing in restricted room, having to be steadied.
JACK DERIPPA – Shifted out shortly after the start, tightening a runner to its outside.
SANDY TOWN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LADYEYE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 2 –Allure Laser & Skin Studio Maiden H’cap – 1560m
CANDY GIRL – Slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Tightened for room shortly after the winning post.
GROOVY PLAYMATE – Slow to begin. Restrained off heels for some distance leaving the 1250m as a result of a horse overracing fiercely in front of it. Tightened for room shortly after passing the winning post.
PRINCESS MISAKA – Slow to begin.
KUNGA GEORGE MUNGA – Slow to begin. Shifted in slightly passing the winning post and tightened runners to its inside. Rider M. Barnham was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
GREY FALCON – Slow to begin. Commenced to lay in near the 300m, having to be steadied, and again near the 200m commenced to lay in before shifting wider on the track to finish the race off.
THREE POINT GENIUS – Overraced in the early stages.
GET OUT OF MY NEIGH – Tightened for room shortly after the winning post.
GOTTEN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 3 – Moss On Wood Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1560m
CRAIGLEA SIMMO – Delayed the start due to a request from its rider for it to undergo a veterinary examination behind the barriers. Subsequently following an examination the gelding was cleared to start.
THIN DISGUISE – Slow to begin. Restrained near the 550m to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.
JETINTOIT – Slow to begin.
WINSOMEMORE – Began awkwardly.
COLLYWOBBLE – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
POETIC HEART ¬– Overraced in the early stages.

Race 4 – Incogneato Hair Artistry Open H’cap – 1300m
COURT CLOWN – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer R. Vale for the gelding to be declared a late scratching due to the deteriorating racing surface, and as such COURT CLOWN was declared a scratching at 3.40 pm.
RECALCULATE – Was late to the saddling enclosure due to the horse being difficult to saddle. Trainer T. Bannon was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s pre-race manners. Overraced in the early and middle stages, throwing its head in the air. Acting under the provisions of AR59A, trainer T. Bannon was fined $100 in that she failed to produce the Identification Card for the horse, which was having its first start in the region.
AVONACO – Slow into stride.
MASON’S CHANCE – Race 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.




Race 5 – Seven Mackay Class 4 Plate – 1300m
BARBADOS STORM – Slow to begin.
HEYINGTON – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle stages.
LIEUTENANT DAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the middle stages.
THE CHEETAH – Commenced to race fiercely when being restrained near the 1200m.
POINT FORWARD – Raced wide in the early stages.
LIKER – Rider W. D’avila reported on return to scale that, in his opinion, the mare was not comfortable in today’s track conditions.

Race 6 – Core Magazine Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1050m
ROSINCA – As rider R. Wiggins was to be overweight, he was replaced by L. Tilley. Jockey Wiggins was fined the sum of $100.
LE CHIFFRE – Slow to begin
RED HOT ROMEO – Slow to begin.
GINGERSNAP – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
KIM’S TARZAN – Raced wide in the early stages. Commence to compound leaving the 300m and collapsed near the 150m, dislodging rider D. Hayse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a massive heart attack, and was subsequently euthanized on humane grounds. Rider D. Hayse was examined by the ambulance officers and was then transported to Mackay Hospital for further observation. Following this incident swab samples were taken from KIM’S TARZAN.
SABA LASS – Eased off heels near the 500m, then had difficulty obtaining clear running after entering the home straight until inside the 100m.
ROSINCA – Eased from heels near the 400m.
Race 7 – Hit FM Class 1 H’cap - 1200m
CINNABARBOW – Declared a late scratching at 12.30 pm by order of the stewards after the horse was injured in transit to the track. Trainer T. Geaney was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the horse starting again.
LADY MILABELLA – As D. Hayse was indisposed he was replaced by D. Evans, who was permitted to ride the horse half a kilogram over its allotted weight as not other rider was available. Tightened for room soon after the start, having to be steadied. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
DOUBLEO CI – As no other rider was available, apprentice E. Smith was permitted to ride the horse 1kg over its allotted weight. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
EMBERSPEED – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced in restricted room shortly after the start and again was placed in restricted room, having to be steadied near the 1000m.
KANUI – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages, and shifted in near the 1000m, crowding runners to its inside.
DRAGON PINS – Over-raced in the early stages.
LORD MAL – Raced ungenerously in the early stages, having to be restrained when being crowded for room.
GOWA GIRL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider W. D’Avila reported on return to scale the filly was not comfortable in today’s track conditions.
NADEEM ESPRIT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SHONECK AFFAIR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
THIS GIRLS ON FIRE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have a laceration to its off hind leg.
