Race 1: TAB BM69 H'CAP – 1560M
 
Correct weight was delayed when a number of riders wished to view the film to see if they were afforded a fair start. After hearing submissions from starter P. Conway and concerned riders, stewards were satisfied that the start had been effected by the starter, and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
UNDER THE WEATHER – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, throwing its head in the air, and near the 1200m lost ground and hampered another runner. Trainer O. Cairns was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
BEST HOFFA – Very fractious in the barriers prior to the start, causing its rider to become unbalanced and the horse beginning very awkwardly and losing ground. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
SIR VAN DYKE – Slow to begin.
 
HELLUVA HOFFA – Began awkwardly.
 
DODGE THE GREY – Steadied momentarily near the 1200m when hampered by another runner which was racing ungenerously.
 
EFFECTAV – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DANE CHEVAL – Overraced in the early stages.
 
Race 2: MACKAY AMATEUR RACEDAY SAT 25TH MAY QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1050M
 
DALADANE – Raced greenly for the majority of the event.
 
JARS – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
WILEY’S PISTOL – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Steadied leaving the 700m when overracing and crowded for room by another runner.
 
GREAT FOX – Jumped inwards at the start, hampering runners to the inside. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AVVA COLDIE – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and was then tightened for room on jumping. Became awkward in its action leaving the 700m becoming unbalanced.
 
RAPTCHA’U – Jumped inwards at the start, crowding runners to the inside. Raced ungenerously in the early stages, shifting ground and hampering another runner.
 
YES SAY US – Raced greenly for the majority of the event.
 
Race 3: MACKAY BLUES ROCK SESSIONS SAT 6TH JULY MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
 
DRUMEOUS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MIGHTY MEERKAT – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CRAIGLEA TREACLE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LENNON’S PADDOCK – Slow to begin.
 
TRUST ISSUES – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
 
LUCKY BEE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
PAIBLE – Unable to obtain clear running from leaving the 300m until near the 100m.
 
Rider J. Stanley (CRISTOVAO) advised stewards that whilst proceeding to the barriers his mount had shied, resulting in him becoming unbalanced and injuring his left wrist, causing him some discomfort, however, he declared himself fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Race 4: MACKAY CUP CALCUTTA FRIDAY 12TH JULY BM55 H'CAP – 1300M
 
JETINTOIT – Shown in the racebook as having blinkers on, which was incorrect as a gear change of blinkers off had been effected. Public announcements were made to this effect. Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
CEDAR RAPIDS – Shifted in near the 800m, placing PRINCE OF MINE in restricted room.
 
LOVE ME RUBY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
PRINCE OF MINE – Overraced in the middle stages and refused to settle and then had to be checked near the 800m when placed in restricted room by CEDAR RAPIDS, which shifted in. Whilst stewards noted the racing manners of PRINCE OF MINE, L. Tilley, the rider of CEDAR RAPIDS, was nonetheless severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 5: TAYLORS SOLICITORS MACKAY CUP SAT 13TH JULY BM55 H'CAP – 1300M
 
TRERICE – Bumped by another runner near the 1000m.
 
CAPTAIN’S WAY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WEAR THE FOX HAT – Slow to begin.
 
COLORADO RIVER – Bumped heavily by another runner which was racing fiercely near the 1000m and shifted inwards, making contact with a runner to the inside.
 
DEVIOUS – Commenced to race fiercely shortly after the start and shifted in near the 1000m, bumping heavily with another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
THIS GIRLS ON FIRE – Shown in the racebook as not wearing blinkers, which was incorrect as the horse raced in blinkers at its previous start. Public announcements were made to this effect. Restrained near the 1000m to avoid the heels of runners which were racing ungenerously in front.
 
POETIC SHOW – Restrained near the 1000m to avoid the heels of runners which were racing ungenerously in front.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to GOOD 4.
 
Race 6: SMARTSTATE VEHICLE RENTALS CLASS 2 PLATE – 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed when GRAND DE LAGO, which was fractious in the barriers, was removed, examined by the Club veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Lost its
 
ASTRAL ODYSSEY – Began awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with another runner.
 
CLIFTON COUNTY – Slow to begin. Lost its near hind plate during in running.
 
GRAND DE LAGO – Fractious in the barriers, removed, examined by the Club veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Laid in approaching the 200m, having to be steadied. Bumped by another runner near the 150m. Following the event trainer W. Pomfrett advised stewards that the gelding had sustained small lacerations to its front legs.
 
ZLOTO – Bumped by another runner and tightened for room on jumping away and lost ground.
 
DOUBLE EM – Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this race the starter, Mr P. Conway, advised stewards that barrier gates 7 and 8 were damaged and unable to be used for the remainder of the meeting. Accordingly, all runners drawing barriers to the outside of barrier 6 in Races 7 and 8 were to be loaded into the barriers to the outside of barrier 8 in their respective barrier order.
 
Following the running of this event the track was further downgraded to SOFT 5.
 
Race 7: SEVEN MACKAY BM75 H'CAP – 1100M
 
MORE THAN A SONG – Tightened for room and had to be restrained when simultaneously attempting the same run as another runner approaching the 200m. Rider A. Thompson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
DEVILS PINCH – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
JACK LANCASTER – Shifted out approaching the 200m, tightening runners to the outside. Rider C. Jokic was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled during the race. Connections were advised that the horse would incur a mandatory bar of 3 months from racing and must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.
 
RED HOT ROMEO – Overraced in the early stages. Tightened for room approaching the 200m when simultaneously attempting the same run as another runner. Rider J. Stanley was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
EL SHADAY – Shifted in under pressure approaching the 200m, tightening runners to the inside before being corrected, then a short distance later shifted out, bumping another runner. Rider C. Whiteley was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
COLOSSEUM KING – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Following the running of this event the track was further downgraded to SOFT 6.
 
Race 8: MCDONALD MURPHY MACHINERY BM60 H'CAP – 1800M
 
VEGAS FLYER – Slow to begin.
 
ARCHIE’S SON – Began awkwardly. Raced very wide rounding the turn out of the straight on the first occasion. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
THAI BOXING – Tightened between runners near the 1700m.
 
PERFECTLY ALIGNED – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
IFYOUKNOWHATIMEAN – Began very awkwardly, making contact with its outside barrier gate. Shifted out near the 1700m, crowding runners to its outside.
 
PROANE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ZOFFANY ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DANZ THE MAN – Laid in near the 1700m, tightening runners to its inside before being corrected. Raced very wide rounding the turn out of the straight on the first occasion and then raced wide until a point near the 1200m where it went forward and obtained the lead.
