Race 1: TAB QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1050m

HAVANNAH SUNSET – Trainer Mr. A Coome was fined $100 for failing to declare D Simmons as the rider of the horse by the prescribed time. LR67. Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.

NO SUCH LUCK – Slowly into stride. Jockey S Sheargold reported that the gelding raced greenly throughout.

JOSHUA TREE – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

PEONY ROSE – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

CRAIGLEA TOPAZ – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

THE SWELL - Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

HARRINGTON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer Mr J Manzelmann was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

Jockey W D’Avila pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 800m when improving forward he permitted HARRINGTON to shift in when insufficiently clear of PEONY ROSE (A. Sewell), which was forced inwards and had to be checked. In this incident GOLDEN TREASURE (N Seymour) and POETIC PETE (Ms. S Wiseman) were also hampered. Jockey D’Avila’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 26th of December 2019 up to and including 3rd of January 2020. In determining penalty stewards took into account jockey D’Avila’s forthright evidence, his guilty plea and recent record in relation to the rule.

Trainer Mr. T Cook was reprimanded for removing GOLDEN TREASURE from the racecourse prior to the prescribed time. AR165.

Race 2: Blacks Real Estate Maiden Plate – 1300m

DUBAI ME A SAGA – Slowly into stride.

SCARAMOUCHE – Over-raced in the early stages.

SHAKA DIAMOND – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

LONROADTOFLY – Shifted ground when placed under pressure in the home straight.

CRAIGLEA LORELEI – Apprentice T. Doyle was fined $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii).

BATTLE MOUNTAIN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 3: Fastway Couriers Open H’cap – 1300m

TAPESTRY VISION – Slowly into stride.

RED HOT ROMEO – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

TRERICE – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Laser Clinics Aust Mackay Ratings Band 0-55 H’cap – 1200m

DEEJAYBEAT- Slowly away. Inconvenienced when racing in restricted room approaching the winning post.

STARS DON’T RUST- Raced wide for the majority. Shifted out marginally approaching the winning post placing other runners in restricted room.

TRIDACNA- Shifted in near the 900m inconveniencing runners to its inside. Jockey M Gray was reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a).

ANIMAL SPIRITS- Was inconvenienced near the 900m by another runner, which shifted in.

ROCKETHEAD- Was inconvenienced near the 900m by another runner, which shifted in.

MALVAGIO - Raced ungenerously for a considerable distance in the middle stages when placed in restricted room. Shifted in marginally under pressure approaching the winning post inconveniencing runners to its inside.

WAY TOO SASSY - Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be sore in the off-fore foot. Trainer Mr. D Micallef was advised a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

CHANDON KISSES - Raced wide for the majority. Had to be restrained approaching the winning post when tightened between runners.

CRAIGLEA ALTONA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 5: Ma’s Pizza Kitchen Benchmark 55 H’capp – 1560m

PLAIN ‘N’ SIMPLE - Slowly away.

SCHILL ROCK YOU - Slowly away.

HAY BURNER - Bumped by another runner on jumping. Over-raced for a short distance passing the 1200m causing Jockey Ms. T Chambers to become unbalanced. Trainer Mr. R Vale to inform Stewards should anything become apparent in coming days which may have had a bearing on today’s performance.

LUVYA BEAK - Shifted in and bumped with another runner on jumping.

CRAIGLEA ARION- Jockey C McIver reported that passing the 1400m the gelding went down behind losing ground. Jockey McIver advised that although he was positioned to the inside of another runner at this point he had clear running and was at a loss to provide an explanation for the incident. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer Ms. K Johnston was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.

Race 6: Man About Menswear Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1100m

SOLOMON- Fractious in the barrier.

SCORCHA- Fractious in the barrier. Was eased out of the race passing the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed multiple superficial abrasions to the mares head and both forelegs. Trainer Mr. T Cook was advised a veterinary clearance would be required before the mare was again permitted to start in a race.

HENPECKER- Fractious in the barrier. Was bumped by another runner approaching the 850m.

GINGERSNAP- Slowly away. Shifted in approaching the 850m bumping another runner.

WALK THE TALK- Over-raced in the middle stages.

FINAL HOPE- Over-raced in the middle stages.

SWEET SURPRISE- Placed in restricted room when attempting to secure a marginal run to the inside of another runner approaching 200m.
