Paul GENERAL As N. Seymour and T. Bannon were unable to fulfil their engagements, rider changes were approved as per the summary. Jockey N. Seymour was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. The following horses were examined by the veterinary surgeon after competing in the past week and were passed fit to start. Mighty Meerkat, Great Looker, Raw Instinct, Twisted Success, Sound Investment, Rockethead, Favor of God, Don’t Doubt Lara, Resort, Sir Van Dyke (NZ), Craiglea Simmo, Drumbeat’s Choice. SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT ROCKHAMPTON, 30 May 2020 RACE 8 – SEQUALO’S SPIRIT – Rider B. Pengelly was fined $100 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip. __________________________ Race 1: Tab QTIS 3YO Maiden H’cap – 1200m GOLDEN TREASURE – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Overraced in the middle stages. ALL FOR HARRY – Slow to begin. JUST LIKE JADE - In the vicinity of the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of LLANO, which shifted in to obtain clear running. As a result, JUST LIKE JADE overraced for a short distance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. KILKENNY LAD – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. THE GIRL IS WILD – Raced wide throughout. Race 2: Souths Leagues Club Maiden Plate – 1300m SCARY SPICE – Jumped away awkwardly. TICKET KEEPER – Was held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was unable to be fully tested at any stage in the run to the finish. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. RAW INSTINCT – Jumped away awkwardly. In the vicinity of the 1000m became awkwardly placed on the heels of SCARAMOUCH when attempting to shift in to find cover. Raced wide throughout. KNIGHT FLIGHT – When questioned regarding KNIGHT FLIGHT leading in today’s event, jockey P. Romeo stated that he was under no specific instructions, but from the wide gate, and after beginning surprisingly well, rather than being trapped wide elected to push forward and led in today’s event. SCARAMOUCHE - When questioned regarding the performance, jockey B. Pengelly stated that when asked for a finishing effort when entering the home straight his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 3: Sunrise Lawn Mowing Benchmark 50 H’cap – 1300m ALLOFIT – Was declared a late scratching at 8.07 after experiencing transport difficulties. FINUCANE MISSILE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. BERNIE’S REGRET – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. BOLD SENSATION – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight. DJEBEL READY - A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had to been galloped on on the off hindleg. SOUND INVESTMENT – Jockey A. Holt stated that SOUND INVESTMENT may not have handled carrying 63 kilograms. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 4: Temporary Fence Hire Services Benchmark 50 H’cap – 1300m KANUI – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. LISTEN MATE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. FAVOR OF GOT – Overraced in the early and middle stages. BATTLE – Raced wide throughout. Race 5: Woollam Constructions Class 4 Plate – 1300m MAGIC WU – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and missed the start. Trainer K. Hansen was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of MAGIC WU. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to the heels of QUIDNI. JUSTALAD – In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained after improving on to the heels of NATIVE BEE. NATIVE BEE – In the vicinity of the 1000m became awkwardly placed at the heels of PAUA, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey A. Butler, rider of PAUA, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future. QUIDNI – In the vicinity of the 1000m became awkward in its stride whilst racing in restricted room to the inside of NATIVE BEE, which was carried in marginally by PAUA. PAUA – Approaching the 100m raced in restricted room and had to be restrained to avoid the heels of MAGIC WU, which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice D. Graham, rider of MAGIC WU, was reminded of her obligations to stop riding and straighten her mounts when they shift ground in future. BROMES – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. STEELZ TIME – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 6: Seven News Mackay Class 2 Plate – 1560m PLANET WARRIOR – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Raced wide throughout. TOP RUNG – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting the outside barrier partition. VAMPARINA – Was hampered on jumping away. FLYING KASS – Jumped away awkwardly. DON’T DOUBT LARA – Rider reported, in his opinion, his mount may not have handled the quick back up. Race 7: Hit FM Mackay & Whitsundays Benchmark 69 H’cap – 1560m PROANE – Jumped away awkwardly. CRAIGLEA SIMMO – Jumped away awkwardly, bumping the inside barrier partition. RESORT – Raced in restricted room making the course proper in the vicinity of the 1400m. ALOOF’S TURF – Laid in under pressure in the straight. RAISE AN ARMY – Rider reported that his mount was disappointing when asked for a finishing effort in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. TARAKI – Rider could offer no explanation in relation to the disappointing performance. Trainer G. Green stated that TARAKI may not have handled the soft track surface. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 8: Silk Laser Clinic Mackay Benchmark 58 H’cap – 1100m LORD LAURIE - Was declared a late scratching at 8.07 after experiencing transport difficulties. GREAT FOX – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight. PRICKLES – Jumped away awkwardly. In the vicinity of the 700m had to be restrained after improving on to the heels of KUHUNA.KUHUNA – Laid out rounding the turn. Jockey A. Butler was dislodged on pulling up. Was examined by the Queensland Ambulance officers and was cleared of any injury. HUTCHO – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until approaching the 300m and was obliged to shift out to improve into clear running. Race 9: Incogneato Hair Artistry Mackay Open H’cap – 1200m RED HOT ROMEO – Proved difficult to load and raced ungenerously throughout the event. Trainer T. Bannon was advised that RED HOT ROMEO would be required to load without delay and trial tractably prior to accepting for a future race start. CRAFTY COP – Hampered on jumping away. Rider reported her mount felt awkward in its action when placed under pressure in the home straight and went to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. FRATELLINO – Jumped away awkwardly. RAIDEN – Shortly after jumping away had to be restrained after racing in restricted room. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of RED HOT ROMEO, which shifted whilst racing ungenerously. MASON’S CHANCE – Raced in restricted room in the vicinity of the 200m. JACK LANCASTER – Raced green under pressure in the straight. JET’S CRACKER – Shortly after jumping away had to be restrained after racing in restricted room. Laid in under pressure in the straight. THE BAKER – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer G.
