SUCH A WHIT – Laid out under pressure in the straight.

Race 4: LASER CLINICS AUSTRALIA CLASS 6 PLATE – 1200M

Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to give consideration to an objection lodged by T. Bannon, rider of the second placegetter TA CHANSON, against MORENO (M.Murphy) being declared the winner alleging interference down the entirety of the straight. It was established that MORENO shifted out marginally under pressure in the straight carrying TA CHANSON slightly wider on the track, which caused both runners to race in restricted room over the concluding stages. Stewards were satisfied that neither runner had made contact and bearing in mind the marginal shift and the manner in which both horses finished the race off, Stewards dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared.

KAHUNA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

HOLY FREEZE – Declared a late scratching at 9.55am after T Bannon reported the gelding to be showing signs of colic. Trainer T Bannon was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to HOLY FREEZE starting again.

MORENO – Permission was granted for M Murphy to ride a kilo over due to no other rider available.
