Due to the government restrictions placed on the greater Brisbane region, Apprentice A Bakos and A Patis were unable to attend todays meeting. Changes were made as per the stewards raceday summary.
 
Race 1: SMARTSTATE RENTALS BM65 Handicap 1560 metres
 
PROANE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start.
 
ELLE A WALKING – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start.
 
VERBALIZER (NZ) – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
PLANET WARRIOR – Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight. He also added that in his opinion the gelding races better with the addition on blinkers. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
STONE WARRIOR (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start.
 
JOEL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Rider reported that after his mount overraced throughout the event his mount failed to finish off the race and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
TIME STAMP (USA) – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 1400m commenced to overrace after being crossed by JOEL. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
LACHY'S LAD – Held up for clear running approaching the 100m and was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
PRIVATE BUTTON – Held up for clear running approaching the 100m and was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
LITTLE IVY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
REFUTATION – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
CASH GAME – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3: MTC MORE THAN JUST A RACECOURSE Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
MAN ONA MISSION – Slow into stride.
 
YUBETIDO – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
WATCH LIST (NZ) – Passing the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of MALLYUMKIN, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey N Day, rider of MALLYUMKIN, was reminded of his obligation to be clear when shifting ground in future.
 
NOT A SINGLE DAY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHEZROYAL – Raced wide throughout the event. Passing the 500m was momentarily inconvenienced by THINK I’M A LADY who was carried out by MAN ONA MISSION
 
THINK I'M A LADY – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 500m. Trainer reported that the mare would be leaving his stable.
 
Race 4: BOOK YOUR EVENTS AT THE CLUB Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres
 
ZIPSPUR – Rider C Jokic was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
CABALO ESCURO – Jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after jumping away lost the use of both irons placing him at a disadvantage for a number of strides before being able to regain his irons passing the 800m. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CASURINA STAR – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
Race 5: SKY RACING OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
RAIDEN – Slow to begin. Passing the 200m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SHIRANDA, who was carried in by SUCH A WHIT, who shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice C Collis, rider of SUCH A WHIT, had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight 3April 2021 to midnight 11 April 2021.
 
SHIRANDA – Passing the 200m was severely hampered and carried in on RAIDEN by SUCH A WHIT which shifted in when insufficiently clear.
 
SUCH A WHIT – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight to passing the 200m.
 
Race 6: BOOK NOW FOR AMATEURS SAT 29TH MAY BM55 Handicap 1300 metres
 
LEFKAS ISLAND – When questioned in relation to the performance of the mare, Jockey J Stanley reported that LEFKAS ISLAND failed to travel at any stage of the event and proved disappointing when placed under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
PRINCE OF VENICE – Apprentice C Collis was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
FEATHER YOUR NEST (NZ) – Shortly after jumping away was momentarily inconvenienced when having to avoid the heels of LUCKY FOR SOME which commenced to buck.
 
LUCKY FOR SOME – Bucked shortly after jumping away and took no competitive part of the race. Trainer Mr M Geaney was advised that the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to accepting for a future race.
 
Race 7: RACING AGAIN TUESDAY 20TH APRIL Class 1 Handicap 1100 metres
 
OYASHIO – Hampered on jumping away. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 800m.
 
BETTER DAYS AHEAD – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride.
 
THE LAST DRAGON – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight and bumped on a number of occasions with DR NEIGH in the home straight. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
DR NEIGH – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Bumped on a number of occasions with THE LAST DRAGON in the home straight.
 
BAUHINIA TED – Hampered on jumping away.
 
ROCKY POET – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
HAVANNAH SUNSET – Passing the 150m had to shift out to improve into clear running.
